Insert pics of trains and/ or buses here .... I'll start off with my favorite ... the 45ft NABI CompoBus

*due to higher production costs than anticipated, NABI stopped making this particular bus model in 2004. Los Angeles MTA and Phoenix ValleyMetro were the only customers. But by increased demand from LA Metro in particular, NABI will be offering the 45ft NABI CompoBus yet again...MTA placed an order for 260 units and 740 options. First buses will arrive by December 2008

Taken last sunday at the O C Fairgrounds. That was my bus for the day

I had the last 4 days off, but I was driving by our bus yard earlier today and I saw a plain white Nova sitting beside some of the Ford Polars, I'm assuming its one of the two Nova's that are to be joining our fleet for our new expansion next month. It was gone as I drove by later, so I'll see if I can find it tomorrow and grab a picture of it.

Back in the late 90's AVTA operated these Neoplan AN 122/3 Skyliner and 8V92 power Neoplan AN 340 Metroliners, I believe the AN 340 was replaced with MCI D 4500. Sadly on my late visit to LA, I did not go downtown to check these Skyliners out aging. To me these are better than Alexander Dennis Enviro 500, because these are actually highway coaches, where Enviro 500 is more like a transit bus.

PS: If you was a fan of Neoplan highway coachs, you have liked walking though downtown LA in the late 90's. You had these Neoplan Double Decker and AN 340 from AVTA, AN 340 ( also 8V92 powered) from Santa Clarita Transit and AN 116 Cityliners ( a D4500 H3 45 competitor, but better looking than both) operated by Sunrise Plaza Tours. It was nice to see Neoplan coaches and not just there transit buses.

Ah, GE P42 Gensis, my favortie locomotive. These thing has a great sound and they are fast as heck.

AVTA used to run 2 Skyliners to/from Downtown LA on the 785 route. They were fun to look at. I havent seen one since last summer. The Metroliners have been replaced with those D4500s, those look pretty good too.

I remember the bus scenes of the 90s too well. Going through Downtown LA was very intresting indeed. The Santa Clarita Neoplans were good-looking too. Those locomotives just sound great and yes they do have a lot of power. The Amtrak P32-8s give me goosebumps... They have great sound effects too

In June, when I came home for a visit, I driving on the 105 freeway and I saw a LADOT Metroliner speeding past me. I notice that it was quite, compared to when they had 6v92 in them, now I see why. I wished they could have repowered them with Detroit Diesel 60, but an ISL is still better (power wise) than a 6v92.

Lots of great pictures everyone!

As I stated in earlier threads, our fleet consists of Dennis Darts for our conventional routes, Ford Polar's for HandyDart and regional routes and an EldoradoThor International for regional routes. I finally managed to take some pictures today, so here you go .....

Dennis Dart and my bus for the day (and just about everyday) ....

They're only 30 footers, so they only have the single front door ....

A very simple dash, nothing fancy ....

This is our International which is used for regional runs. This was my bus pretty well for all of last year ....

We just received 2 brand new Nova Bus 40 footers. These will be put into service next month for our run down to Kelowna. BCTransit is thinking of changing our paint jobs, so that's why they are still white and lack the blue/red stripes. They may be changing to green stripes and these will be the first two in the Province to get them ....

They just arrived on Monday, so they're still being prepped ....

A few more buttons and switches as opposed to the Darts ....

Yes I tried to pace one a few days ago at Downtown LA in the NewFlyer I was driving. No dice. those LADOT Neoplans are too much for me lol. LADOT also has some ex-Foothill Transit Gillig Phantoms too. unbelieveble.

Actually, they're not too bad in all honesty, the turning radius is fantastic. Kelowna, which is our neighbor just to the south of us also has the Dennis Trident double decker in its fleet. Hard to believe, but their transit system has just exploded and they're (the double deckers) are even becoming to small.

Yes, those AN 340 Metroliners may look like over size AN 440, but to me they are not just transit buses, they are transit highway coaches. AVTA and Santa Clarita even had bathroom in theirs.

I always been a fan of Santa Fe rail road, mainly because the house growing up in, was near one of their rail road tracks. Those was the days you could hear a locomotive miles away. It was a treat for me to see them and BN merge together, because I like BN name.
