Looks like I'm in good company then. I wore a shirt and tie for my PPL checkride back in 2005, but only because I had to go to work immediately after.
I lift things up and put them down.

I can understand wearing a shirt and tie for your checkride, I actually wore a suit for my PPL checkride for first impression with an ex-P-3 buddy of mine, the FAA examiner. But for your private solo cross country, not many people I know actually do it unless you're flying with an academy, but I can understand it's a dress policy for you, however, you do look professional. But for CPL and above, I can understand more clearly if you're trying to become a professional pilot. How many CFI's do you know that wears a shirt and tie? Not many.

Quoting JetMech (Reply 85):
What aircraft types does she like

She says she really likes the 757 of aircraft that are in service. Of the classics, she really loves the 727, and she loves anything that's related to Piedmont (except for the new fake Piedmont that runs as US Airways Express).

From a historitcal standpoint, she would love to see the Piedmont DC-3 in Charlotte, the Memphis Belle (she's met Robert K. Morgan), and the Spruce Goose. So here's a hint for you.  wink   silly  Another hint: if you have access to a Ryan PT-22, I think she'd fall in love with you.

(Before any of you think I'm really geeky or strange, she's sitting over my shoulder telling me what to type here, haha).
