Cathay (CX) Using New Aircraft Type?

Wed Aug 27, 2008 3:42 am

Just ran across this in my plane spotting recently, and was wondering if Cathay has a "Home Made" aircraft program to help save them money on acquisition costs  . May not save on fuel, but using fiberglass may be their version of a composite aircraft. Not sure about the necessity of a slide on board especially in this configuration, though it would help with weight issues once airborne  . Aerodynamics must be Cr%p though. Might be faster than the A343 still though

Funny, I was walking past a similar children play area a couple of days ago...

Is that the one in a mall in Richmond, near YVR?

I thought so. Cathay is a very popular airline in this area for sure.

Do you live around there?

Apparently they are still unsure about whether to go for RR or PW...
