but we will have to see how Rochdale are doing around the time. The most inappropriate dates were chosen to be honest, the week after the meet, we play Luton away, would've made things a lot easier!

Seriously, it's only a crappy game and what makes it worse is that it's a crappy team nobody gives a stuff about! Well, except you and maybe Steve!  Wink

I have no idea what I'll be doing then. I was planning a trip to LAS around that time but I dont have any specific dates so I'll probably just work it aorund this meet

I'm in a similar situation. I'm in the early planning stages of a trip to LAS tentatively scheduled a few weeks after. I'm tempted to do this Meet and hold off on going back out to Las Vegas until the Fall. So for the time being, I'll put myself on the Maybe List, and will probably make a final decision around the first of the year. The fares and the room rates don't look too bad either.

Rona definitely won't be coming sadly, she's got something booked for the 19th already that doesn't include me thankfully... she's going to the Opera with her sister Big grin

So, it'll just be me if I do come down, I'm checking prices for EDI-LON now and it's looking more likely for EDI-LCY-EDI or EDI-LGW-EDI at £92. Not too bad likes  Smile

It's only £100 to fly BA into LHR. A lot less hassle than hauling yourself across London.

I have got no more A380 inaugural flights to worry about until maybe the BA one so I have to make the LHR meet this time. I will have my one night at the Renaissance from trading the upgrades for the hotel room - it worked.

All I have to worry now is book me some flights to LHR. I will probably extend my stay in the area too. I want to see Concorde AB.  cheerful

It's good to see another meet being planned! I have been absent from various meets since Iceland 07 now so i feel this one would be a good one to come back and say hello!

I'll bash myself on the maybe list as there is a small chance i won't be about, but more than likely i shall be. Now the question is will the Jury's Inn let me back there after my Budweiser/Smoked Salmon fueled rampage the last time i stayed!

I am getting closer to being a definite for the meet.

I have just traded a United 3P status nomination on Flyertalk for another hotel night at Heathrow so it makes two hotel nights from two different trades.

Not bad at all.  airplane   cheerful

All I will need now is book the plane ticket but I will wait a little while as we are still some time away from the meet. The hotel stays came as number 1. I am happy my trades worked out so easily as I made some good offers.

What is viewing like from The Green Man? I've only ever been to LHR twice, and based myself on one of the car parks on the perimeter road (IIRC, it was next to the Renaissance Hotel). Both myself and my partner would be interested!

You will love the viewing from the beer garden at TGM. The planes go right over the trees at times. It's amazing to see the big jumbos so low above our heads. I always have a great time watching the big birds. Truly fantastic. I want to see one or several A380's. I am so used to them Singapore 380's from the inside I now want to see them from under!

I got me a room at the Renaissance from the trade, one night for now but I will add another night from the other trade. The Renaissance (strategic location on Bath Road) is another great spotting place right across the main runway. No more Concorde take offs/landings to watch -unfortunately- but the A380s might be interesting.

Does anybody know if the LHR Visitors Center has re-opened or is it definitely considered defunct?

I am going to put myself as a definite as I now have a confirmed reservation at the hotel. Although it is still distant in time, I very much look forward to the meet.

I wanted to wait until my membership came up for renewal so I would only have to do this once. RJdxer won't be attending but DXing and his wife will. My wife is an incurable Dianaholic and since this is the weekend of our 23rd wedding anniversary we will be getting there early in the week to tour anything Diana. For that I will be allowed to stand and watch airplanes land at LHR. Sounds like a fair trade to me. See you there!

No but I do and I don't know if I told you but I booked us on a Hotline the other month. Oh and my other friend got you in the Galleries Lounge? I'd say you're not doing too bad!

I'm probably in the South then too... but it is a week before my essay deadlines! That said, it's the weekend I should be heading up north. Clearly the way forward is to combine it with a flight back up to NCL...
