What I Want For Christmas

Sat Nov 29, 2008 12:31 am

Feel free to order me one of these. I don't need it Christmas morning, sometime in the next year or two will do fine.

http://samsonmotorworks.com/

The SkyBike is a three-wheeled, two-seat motorcycle with a telescoping main wing and a canard. Powered by a shrouded single propeller driven by a rotary engine, the vehicle will supposedly fly at 130 mph–although it hasn’t flown yet.
The idea is that you drive the vehicle like a motorcycle to the airport. There, you extend the telescoping wings and takeoff. At takeoff, the flat panel instrument display transitions from automotive instruments to aviation instruments.

The next Bond movie will probably feature this.

I'll second that! Heck, you know what, I'd split it 1/2 with you even. Only if its black though, because that is the sleekest looking airplane ever!

In reality, all I want is to go home for Christmas break. Florida sucks, and well, so does the school I go to. Can't wait to get back to wide open space of Kansas.

The end of these stupid 4am sales. Its just sick when somebody in California gets SHOT at a Toys R Us, and on Long Island, a employee gets trampled to death in a Wal-Mart. People are absolutely nuts, and its creating the mob scenes that get people injured and killed.

RIP to Wal-Mart employee and my wishes to his family.

Couldn't agree more and would like to see more retail people offer online sales rather than store sales. It took me 15min to find a parking spot at Books a million. Ridiculous.

The worst store by far is Boston Store with their $10 coupons in the paper that you can't find a DAMN THING in the store that you can ACTUALLY use it on. Do people not realize there are 27 days til Christmas this year, and they have sales between now and then???

What I want for Christmas is quite interesting:

.For me not to fall off the roof and nearly break my leg, arm or neck putting the frigging lights up
.A Russian fur hat, complete with Soviet Army symbol
.Any kind of liquor, be it beer, spirits, the hard stuff...anything
.A few scratch lotto tickets (just for the Hell of it)
.A new pair of dress shoes
.A little bit of cash ($50-$100)
.My aunite and uncle to fly in safe from LHR and NOT lose their bags because the T5 baggage belt ate/lost them
.My car not to slide off the road into a power pole because of the ice (and the retards that can't drive worth two shits in this city)
.Work not to bone me and have me work until 10 on Christmas Eve

That is what I hope for during the Christmas season this year.

Never knew Santa Clause was Greek

Christmas is celebrated on the 25th December, but presents are usually given
to children on January 1st, St. Basil's Day (Agios Vassilis = Father Christmas).

In Western European countries St. Nicholas is celebrated as a great gift-giver,
and his name is given to Father Christmas, who is supposed to visit children
to give presents at Christmas.

In Greece St Nicholas is the patron saint of sailors, and 6th December is St.
Nicholas Day. In centuries of Greek folklore, Nicholas was seen as "The Lord
of the Sea'. In modern Greece, he is still easily among the most recognisable
saints and December 6 finds many cities celebrating their patron saint. He is
also the patron saint of all of Greece.
In the past there used to be present giving on this day, and boats were
decorated instead of Christmas Trees. The decorated boats are still seen in
some places, but have mainly given way to the western tradition of the
Christmas tree.

What I Want For Christmas...

Nothing. I want the holiday to pass without incident so that I can celebrate the REAL holiday, which is New Years!!

I hate Christmas. Unfortunately, I have to partake for the rest of my life now that I have a little girl... it's just for her. Normally, I do nothing but enjoy the peace and quiet!

Now there's a sentiment you don't hear every day!

Let me further my bashing of Florida. (Rant forthcoming) First of all, Florida is nothing but old people, who expect you to wait on them. I've got nothing against them, but some of them really go out of their way to get in your way. Second, the weather never really changes. Its fairly constant all the time, and well, I can't stand that. I need my snow, and what not. Rain is great too. Third, everything is about NASCAR where I live. As much as I love the sport, it gets old very fast, especially when you can hear every car on the track during testing. Very annoying. (Rant Over)

Fourth, flying general aviation in Florida isn't nearly as much fun as I assumed it could have been. Airspace is quite complex, and unlike Kansas, you really have to have a plan of action before you go out. Nothing is better than going out, and cow chasing, going where ever you want, without really worrying about bumping into airspace.
Regardless, school is nearly over for the semester, and I will be going home shortly.

The perfect Christmas present for me would a just one day when I could go to work and not have a single customer demand that I refund finance charges on their credit card, swear at me or call me a liar. Thankfully I only had one or two really bad customers call me. I did have one lady call me a sexist, racist bas...d, you would think that I had made her spend 10K on her credit card and then personally taken £100 interest and put it in my back pocket.

Save that I will settle for a quiet Christmas and boxing day on the phones at work for double time and a day in lieu, I mean how many people would call there credit card company on those two days to complain Big grin
