Hmm 2008 was rather good, yes it could have been better; but I have some good memories from 2008.
Jan 2008; finishing 4th in an Australian sailing championships.
Feb 2008: going to Sydney for an overnight trip.
Mar 2008: Buying a house
Sep 2008: moving in; Yay my own house.
Oct 2008 & Nov 2008: catching up with some a.netters both in Australia and the UK.
Nov 2008: Doing a RTW trip.
Jan 2008; finishing 4th in an Australian sailing championships.
Feb 2008: going to Sydney for an overnight trip.
Mar 2008: Buying a house
Sep 2008: moving in; Yay my own house.

Getting the keys to our home was one.
Seeing Barack Obama speak to a small crowd a couple days before caucus night.
Seeing my son off to Afghanistan
Finally! Getting a Vox AC30, even though it's a reissue.
Discovering facebook and reconnecting with a lot of people.
I could go on for hours but I think you get the picture. It's all good and it's getting better all the time.

2008 was a good year for me,
Feb: Visiting South Africa and getting to see lions at night in their own habitat.
Feb: The look of joy on my fiancée face when we got back from South Africa and found out she was pregnant
Nov: My first son being born and the count less hours of joy I've had since watching him smile away.

Oh, so we have a DeVry graduate then, eh?
Eh, in any event, I left out moving with my Fiancee to the greater Philadelphia region. Oh, and then asking her dad if I'd make a good son-in-law (the official unofficial engagement)
My goals for 2009:
-find SOMETHING in my field (geography, GIS, planning, environment) preferably here in the Philly region
-give my fiancee the ring (thanks to the sh&tty economy, I could not afford it)
-go to New York some time this year and stay there overnight
