Stopping of course for the red ones.

From my place to YYZ it is about 25 km and 2 traffic lights (most of it is highway driving). On the way back, the way highway exits are, its 3. Not bad!

Quoting Zkpilot (Reply 9):
The current fashion in New Zealand seems to be to put in traffic lights at any intersection the 'consultants' recommend at considerable expense (I understand it costs about $300,000 (US$170,000) for most intersections to have lights installed). They are a PITA, waste electricity, cause excessive idling of cars and don't seem to do much compared to the previous round-about/give way intersection.
It works well in LA but not over here.. Those city planners deserve to be shot for the amount of economic loss and frustration this city has seen since the implementation of the lights. It just clogs up every single road around an onramp and doesn't really improve the flow of the motorway because Auckland's motorway system isn't that great.

Between my house and EXT, there is a grand total of 2 sets of traffic lights, which must be some kind of record for the UK. I live about 25 miles away.

From my house in Austin to the airport...15 lights. About 15 miles.

None or one, depends which way I take, 33 kilometers.
|Quoting 777ER (Reply 82):|
From WLG to my home it all depends on three different routes I can take. Route one via the harbour akes me through 13 lights, route 2 via the city and harbour takes me through 21 lights, route 3 via the city and direct to the motorway takes me through 7 lights
