Male Game Show Hosts Wearing Pink

Sun Jan 18, 2009 4:30 pm

I was wondering, has anyone noticed that more male game show hosts are wearing pink in recent years? I have seen Richard Karn, John O'Hurley, and Alex Trebek wearing pink shirts.

Does anyone think this is a good idea? I personally don't have a problem with men wearing pink, as I wear pink quite often. It seems that many of the male game show hosts are also comfortable wearing pink.

I think it's neither good nor bad. It should be a non-issue.

Exactly. Pink is a color. If they want to, they can wear it. Problem is the self-image that most of them are afraid of. Can you imagine someone wearing pink on a game show, then the next day having all the magazines in the world spreading rumors about the sexual orientation of that individual? Therefore I'm sure that even some of those hosts are totally fine with wearing pink outside of the set, just for the reasons mentioned above, they lay off of it.

I for one love pink shirts. Some great colors out there.

I'm doing about game shows in my media studies lessons at the moment. Certainly some interesting points being made about presenters/conventions and how things have changed, etc.

Well be thankful he is at least branching out, normally his threads are about the interiors of DL planes, seats, PSU's and the such.

Well, this thread is particularly about male game show hosts wearing pink. It seems that pink shirts have become more popular with them.

As long as they're not wearing hot pink satin shirts with gold lame gaucho pants....who cares? Because that outfit would just be tacky...and hideous.  Smile

Well pink shirts have become more popular EVERYWHERE so wouldn't it stand to reason that it would become popular in popular culture as well?

This thread really is a weird one.

Besides, who cares what al borland and j peterman are wearing anyways?

Um... Who cares what others think? I don't wear pink, but I see no problem with anyone else doing so, nor consider them bizarre.

Everyone should make their own mind up for oneself. So... Let them wear pink.

It is the new black.
