Well, I would love to make it (and get G-hugs) but it's pretty unlikely. One of our cats has been fighting cancer and I can't really make any travel plans. But we shall see. Maybe he'll be doing great and I can slip back east for the weekend or something - and see my Mae and get Portuguese food!

Just as an aside. Probably nothing since most coming from out of town will probably be staying near the airport but Toronto Pride's kick off is that week. This may boost hotel prices a bit, especially near the city centre. But, if everyone is good with that weekend, I'm still a maybe, but I have something to pencil in that weekend.

Not everyone has the time or ability to be on A.net all the time either, at least with facebook you can keep track of comments since you get an automatic email.

Wasn't saying that it should be moved "from" A.net. However, FB could also be a good back-up to ensure no pertinant details are missed....remember that some people were not even aware of this thread on A.net until they were pointed to it by outside sources ---- And one of those people happened to be you!!!

Anyways, I was only agreeing with someone else's suggestion...which of course is no longer allowed on A.net - hence the masses having defected - including myself.

I'm still awaiting clarification on the proposed date before commiting 100% - however as the days go by and reading "hollier than thou" comments on this site, I may just pass and head back into my non-aviation related cave.

I didn't suggest June 1 because I expect the usual spotting places to be crowded. I'd really like to see the 380 though...but if you guys aren't interested, June 21 it is.

Why only on June first? The A380 will come to YYZ every Monday, Wednesday and Friday past June 1. That's why I suggested to move the meet to Friday or Monday.

I was thinking Friday, June 19 or Monday, June 22. However, since most members don't want to spend vacation days, June 21 remains.

Go to the GTAA website and under Community Relations/Community Outreach you can see they are holding their 2nd annual Runway Run on Saturday June 13. So if any of you are runners and want to run beside the jets - here's your chance!
