Aviation On Album Covers

Wed Feb 25, 2009 7:05 pm

I'd have to caution those so tempted to not post the "Blind Faith" cover... But it is one that comes to mind.

Out of curiosity, I did a bit of research. A search through Archive.org reveals that Myaviation was using the image as the main banner as early as February of 2005.

The album (single) "Watching Airplanes" was released in August of 2007.

According to Wikipedia, the song featured on that single reached a peak of #2 on the Billboard country charts in early 2008.

I'm not one to go chasing after others with lawsuits, but record labels sure tend to go after copyright violations of their material rather ruthlessly, so there would be a certain satisfaction in returning the favor...

On a related topic, I was trying to find of John Denver had any airplanes on any of his album covers but he did. Others have recorded Leaving On A Jet Airplane and had aircraft on their album covers.
