Your Cell Phone

Mon Mar 02, 2009 4:23 pm

Hi all,

What about your cell phones?
Here's mine a Nokia 2610 produced on 28.09.2006 (older one Big grin) but still satisfied with it. It has no camera, no multimedia even not a FM Radio! But I can communicate with it. Thanks God.  Smile

I have exactly the same phone as you. Well, sort of, I lost my last one (which was in turn a replacement for one I broke) so I'm using my Nan's. I really must get around to buying a new one!

I have a orange LG LX260 with Alltel who I've had for nearly 5 years now as a service provider and can't say enough about.

I had this phone. I hated, hated, hated, hated it. Impossible to text on because of the tiny keys, it lagged SO much every time I opened the menus. The END button didn't always work. This phone was the worst thing I've ever owned. I'll never buy a Nokia again.

It's weird, though, that many, many other people who have this little phone absolutely love it, including my sister.

I now have the LG Shine, and it's amazing. From now on I think I'll only get Samsung or LG phones...

My current phone broke last weekend when I dropped it from about 30 feet and cracked the screen. Amazingly, everything else still works but a screen helps. I'm not sure what I'll do in the short term but in the next few months I'd like to pick up an LG Dare or Samsung Instinct.

... great phone, it's my second Samsung and the only complaint I have is that I find the antenna rather weak. Other than that, Samsung's are by far the best phones I've used Big grin

My contract is up for renewal next year, so I'm already looking for a new phone. I have a few in mind, but hopefully we'll be seeing some new models in Canada by then Big grin

I've got a Nokia N80i which I'm dying to replace but can't due to other things needing financing at this point in time

It's actually a loan phone but it's mine as long as I need it, It's starting to look a bit worse for wear, I've also got a Blackberry Curve but most of the features are useless on Prepaid.

Ditto I love mine, specially now that I got the software update and the few glitches it had are gone. I almost made the mistake of getting the LG Dare but I think it's a huge downgrade rather than the upgrade that its supposed to be in regards to the Env2. The Env2 feels much more solid and well built than the Dare, its smaller, the menu keys actually respond instantly (they have a lot of lag in the Dare) not to mention I got it for free.

Quoting JBirdAV8r (Reply 8):

Get the software upgrade its free as long as its within warranty (it should be since the phone hasn't been out for a year yet). It adds a two-step keyguard so its impossible to do pocket dials anymore.

Even before the software upgrade (old phone diddnt have it, new one does) the one step keyguard was fine. IMO, the two step is a pain in the butt. But I just keep mine in a suit pocket or on my beltclip so i've never had a dialing problem.

Ah that's why. I have a lot of friends with the Env2 and they all keep it in their pant pockets like me, they've all dialed people randomly too. I don't find the two step unlock any more cumbersome either but I have been known for being really good at pushing buttons  Wink

FatmirJusufi, you would be surprised. I do not have a cell phone, it is true. I am quite happy not to have one in fact.

I have seen these cell phones with real diamonds and precious stones in shopping malls in Dubai being sold at some unbelievable prices. I guess there must be people there who buy them. It is not only in Monaco where there might only be a few of those maybe brought by some Arab Sheikhs or by the owner of the Lady Moura.

I will however admit that the IPHONE has the best autocorrect I have ever seen.......The IPHONE is pretty much used as a Touch now.

Originally used Moto in the US and Nokia overseas. Went to Nokia in the US when I moved to ATT (for better reception here as well as GSM) years ago. For a while I had GSM SIMS for the US, Australia and the UK.

I was waiting for the next version of the iPhone, hoping for an iSight camera on the front as well as more memory - I figured a 32 GB iPhone would be a true pocket computer. The last Nokia died late September and I went early with the iPhone.

I'm impressed with the iPhone because of the balanced design and the free or 99¢ (I'm cheap) apps. I use it or a few apps every day - including a great, free app to help control my diabetes. When the grandkids (4 & 7) come over the iPhone is their game toy and it can keep them tame for hours.

There still needs to be improvements in areas like syncing information from non-Apple apps, but over it's working very well for me.
