"You don't mess with the Zohan". Not funny, just stupid and crude. Had I not been with a group of friends, I would have walked out of the theater.

I also agree that Will Ferrell movies are generally not worth watching.

Other nominees: Beavis and Butthead Do America -- they treck across the country in puruit of a stolen TV set... COME ON!!!

One I watched on purpose:

I was out in Chicago, we had a few hours to kill before our flight home, my wise-ass Nephew recommended a movie before dinner, I think it was called "Clerks 2" stupid and gross, my wife and I left. He laughed his fanny off afterwards. We now use it as a running joke.

It's curious how the Godfather franchise got almost destroyed by the third one. That happens when they base another sequel without basing themselves on the original book. Godfather I and II were at least based on the book.

I strongly disagree on this part. Godfather III is on par with Godfather II (or even slightly better). All Godfatgers have been written by Mario Puzo and although the first two movies are based on the novel, some changes were made.

Anyway my worst movie ever seen is S Club Seeing Double. I can´t judge about the Scary movie series as I turned the movie of after 10 minutes. I couldn´t stand the movie

"You, Me, and Everyone We Know"

Horrible, pretentious "art" film that was raved about by all of the critics. It was so bad that I actually felt angry that people pretended to like it, because I know that no one who actually watched it could have enjoyed the experience....at all.

And I really think the director, MIranda July, should be in prison for the inappropriately sexual situations involving the child actors. The whole thing was a disgusting, grotesque spectacle that I feel totally creeped out by.

Sure, all Godfather movies were written by Mario Puzo, but Godfather III just sucks. The story is not right, it doesn't fit the Godfather, especially considering the love story between two first degree cousins (Vincent and Mary) and this real estate business with the Vatican. It just doesn't fit, also because it lacks the base that Godfather I and II had through the book; the story never existed in the book, it was made up for theatres.

I have plenty of candidates for the worst movie ever but I think there is one clear winner – Mamma Mia! The Movie. I loved the stage show but everything about the movie was a cliché ridden disaster.

Stars were totally miscast – what is the point of making a musical when all the leading stars cannot dance or sing?

Choreography was amateurish – the dance routines might have been suited to live theatre but I have seen better dancing from children in a kindergarten!

The director had no idea how to transform a musical from stage to film – just what was she thinking when filming, or was she smoking throughout the production?

The photography was disjointed.

The script was ludicrous.

Julie Walters over acted and became very annoying after a few minutes. Meryl Street was too old for the part. With Brosnan you kept thinking about James Bond wearing a tutu. And prayer what was the point of making Colin Firth's character gay?

The most annoying aspect was in the cinema when some members of the audience rose to their feet and sang along with the film. I paid to see the film, not to hear some old fogies and drunken teenagers singing hopelessly out of tune.

Just watch the French & Saunders parody from Comic Relief for a real taste of the film.

Citizen Kane

The most overrated piece of cinematic bilge I've ever had the displeasure of sitting through.

Now I love old movies, from the silents on...but critic after critic proclaims CK as being the penultimate classic film. I've watched it 3 times in a futile attempt to "get it" and each viewing was a painful experience.

How Green Was My Valley won Best Picture at the Academy Awards that year, and is forever ridiculed vis-a-vis CK and you know what? I'd rather watch HGWMV a thousand times than one minute of Citizen F*ucking Kane!

Wow - there are so many to choose from......but one sticks out in my mind. Many of you are probably too young to have been around when it came out back in 1978. It was called "Message From Space" and was the absolute worst steaming pile of manure I ever saw.
Now granted, I never saw "Plan Nine from Outer Space" or "Robot Monsters" which are supposedly the all-time stinkers, but I can't imagine they could have been worse.

I'd also like to give dis-honorable mention to Blair Witch Project - there's two hours of my life I'll never get back. Hideous crap is all I can say abut that one.

I had another idea of a really bad movie, but I lost it  banghead

Oh, while we're at it, Farrenheit 911. Michael Moore is a moore-on! Actually, anything that that liberal screw-up made is utter garbage...

"War of the Worlds", with L.Ron Cruise...complete and utter dreck...it made me sorry I have eyes...

Number one has to be, "An Inconvenient Truth", which should have been called, "An Incontinent Poo". What a load of pseudo scientific drivel. All it did was give rich people who drive hybrids, and yet still fly private jets, another reason to act smug. Today's forecast; +3c...today's actual high; -5c...but our hundred year forecast will be perfect...riiiiiight. The problem with global warming is it isn't working fast enough.
What the...?

and Wild wild west.

Any movie with so much blatant display of Salma Hayek's cleavage cannot be considered the "worst ever".

Hey now I will agree that the National Lampoon franchise has made some really bad movies but come on the Vacation series with Chevy Chase is quite funny.

I agree - Vacation 1 and Christmas Vacation are classics. So is Animal House. The rest of the National Lampoon movies - not so much.

Superman 2. Maybe it's because I couldn't care less about comics (except the stuff in the paper, like Peanuts and Pearls Before Swine). Maybe it's because I was snookered in to seeing this movie without seeing the first. But I HATED it!

Howard the Duck

Definitely the worst movie ever...

The only reason I wouldn't completely agree with you guys in this is that Leah Thompson looked pretty hot in a couple scenes. Otherwise, yeah, dumbest idea ever floated in Hollywood. How it ever got made is beyond me.

Quoting BCAL (Reply 78):
worst movie ever but I think there is one clear winner – Mamma Mia! The Movie.

See - here's the problem. The thread starter asked what's the worst movie you've ever seen. Well, if I lived a thousand years I would never in my life even for a nanosecond consider seeing that one  Wink

When I was in high school (early 90s) my friend said we just *had* to watch a movie whose title I've unfortunately since forgotten. It was an oldie, but at the time it was released it had apparently shattered the record for the amount of fake blood used in a film.

The plot was that some Dr. Frankenstein knockoff would go down to the beach, find a cute girl in a bikini, kill her, drag her back to the lab, and cut off her leg.
Next, that sequence would repeat, but this time he'd kill a different girl, and cut off her other leg.
See a pattern emerging yet?
Now he goes back to the beach, kills a different girl, and cuts off her arm.
Then he goes down to the beach again, kills a fourth girl, and cuts off her other arm.
5th girl: torso
Presumably he was going to cut off the 6th girl's head, and sew all the mix-and-match parts together to make some kind of creature, but it was so repetitive and boring that we turned it off without ever getting to the end.

If anybody happens to know the title of the film, please PM me - I do wonder about it every once in a while.

I've seen some horrid stuff, but the one I can't escape at the moment is one my stepson-to-be cannot get out of the DVD player. The Cat in the Hat version with Mike Myers is HORRID! He has autism, and when a movie is in "his rotation" it pretty much plays nonstop. And the movie he was into before this, another Dr Seuss remake, of The Grinch with Jim Carrey, which I 'd thought was awful, now seems like a 5 star flick!

On the traditional route, I thought Faceoff with Nicholas Cage was laughingly awful. And I'll throw a vote to Godfather III as well.
