Were you not paying attention to the fact that NEST is an international group? Don't give me Josh Duhammel, etc, the character Capt. Lennox was one of the first to encounter these aliens and live, so him being in command is not far fetched. You also seemed to ignore when the General in charge of NEST ordered one of his subordinates to "call Egypt (or was it Jordan), and get permission to access their airspace." And let's not forget the participation of the Jordanian military in the sequal. But hey, don't let facts get in the way of some good old fashioned anti-Americanism.

Still, it seems as though the President of the United States has the final word on whether they stay or go. I don't see why an international group would matter if this one person could order anything which would affect many other nations too. It's just a fact with so many of these movies and it's rather unavoidable unless the film isn't American.

I'm probably the only person in the universe to really hate the movie.

Again, it's just a movie, let it go. If you wanted to see more than just the Jordanian troops, then perhaps foreign MoD's would be willing to grant Michael Bay the access he got from the DoD. As for the President's decision, the whole premise of the movie seemed to be that his National Security advisor was pushing an agenda. And just because it says if the President decides, it doesn't mean he did so without consulting his allies.

Some of the more rabid and idiotic anti-American members on these boards would be pushing for the US to compensate Egypt for the destruction of Giza (it's just a movie guys, I'm sure the Pyramids are still there). "Those damn Americans attracted the Autobots who attracted the Decepticons." And unless the Autobots have Visa, we get to foot the bill. I'm not sure how much the Great Pyramids cost, but at that point, money talks and if we're paying up the wazoo, then it's our call if the Autobots stay or not.

Hooray the US air force/army/navy are so cool and so tough yaya but where were the egyptian army and air force in the egyptian scenes?? The whole movie was just a big GM commercial/military recruiting video.

The attention span of some people these days...

Didn't notice the British troops in NEST? Didn't notice how excited everyone was to see the Jordanian troops? Perhaps you should ask the Egyptian military why they didn't volunteer to have their troops depicted in the film. Last I checked, Michael Bay doesn't have the right to just waltz into any military base and start shooting. The Egyptian military obviously felt they had better things to do, so go moan to them. Oh, but of course, it's OUR fault. :I

The dumb un-necessary character with the gross close-up thong bit, the CIA/hacker guy or whatever he was, had a line 'I'm going to do this for my country' when he's in egypt, not america, nevermind for his planet...

Meh, it was succinctly explained in the first movie that he was "a strange man". But if you were honestly offended by this, boy I'd hate to see how you would react at a serious dinner table discussion.

BTW, happy 4th of July. I hope I didn't offend you. You do have the 4th of July in the UK after all. If you're still feeling mad, then for your sensitivities, have a happy 5th of July as well. The 6th is your problem though.

Now as for my opinion of the movie...a bit long. I saw it last Thursday But did anyone else feel a bit more moved at the death of Optimus Prime than Michael Jackson? No offense meant to Michael, but by that night I was already saturated by the media obsession. At that point I needed a mindless two hours of robots blowing each other up.
