I posted this one last month but since its a good one:

In Full Mess Dress for a friends wedding in Michigan.

And then here's a couple from Denali National Park in Alaska this past weekend. First one is just outside the visitor center. Second one is after we hiked up one of the mountains in the park.

We've known each other for 5 years, so we've been through all that. We tried being in a romantic relationship and it didn't really work. Therefore we've mutually decided being friends is better in our case...

Best tracks were Beautiful Day, Vertigo, and Pride (In the Name of Love), and of course One, and I'm really getting to like Moment of Surrender off the latest album, they finished-off the night with it. Future classic!

And Bono dedicated She Moves in Mysterious Ways to Sinead O'Connor . . . . LOL!

Sorry you had to sit through a Bono/U2 concert

You know I would have been pretty indifferent to Bono up to recently, looking on him as just another sanctimonious, rich rock star who, good natured and probably naively, jumped on any passing third-world bandwagon. But the UK Sunday Times had one of their reporters shadow him (even living in his house) for six months, and her article appeared last month. Reading it changed my mind about the man, and given the glowing testimony from people like Bill Clinton. Tony Blair and other luminaries, I see the man in a different light. It's easy to slag-off rich do-gooders, but there are many rich people who couldn't give a damn about the third world, and it's great to see one who's influential enough to really make a difference, no matter how small that may be. And watching the old pro perform on Saturday night I can only give him a big  thumbsup   thumbsup   thumbsup

Pity . . . it's a once-in-a-lifetime experience. My mate, who wouldn't have been a U2 fan, was apprehensive about going, and even wanted to sell his ticket. Fortunately there were no takers, and he was online this morning trying to get another one for tonight's concert, the last one in Dublin. They were all sold out.  Sad

I agree with you and understand your jealousy. I don’t like Köln too much, it’s so big and somehow un-inviting, whereas Bonn is very inviting somehow! Is it just me or are there any agreers? There is also so much to see very close to BN and it takes only twenty minutes to bike to the next state, the Pfalz.

Agreed. I love visiting Koeln, and my cousin Martin lives there, but I totally agree with you on the aspect that Bonn is just more inviting. I don't know what it is about it, I could definitely live there. I think one of my favorite things to do since I was a child (my first time in Germany was when I was in my mom's tummy), is to bike all around, especially in the Rheinaue. It's my favorite park. I just love being there in the evenings, and now with the Post Tower lighting up in cool colors, it's just a neat atmosphere. I think what I love about Bonn, and Germany in general, is the openness for pedestrians and bikers. It just makes life a lot simpler. I also love the fact that it's a considerably big town, or city, yet it has a small town feel for it.

Agreed - almost completely, except:

”I think what I love about Bonn, and Germany in general, is the openness for pedestrians and bikers.”

When biking is one’s main method of going between places, one learns that Bonn may be good for cyclists, but it’s still POC! What I mean, is that it may be good compared to other countries, but in my opinion it’s really bad. I have learned it the hard way never to follow bike lanes or something, but to go on Google.Maps and plan my own route, through all kinds of small places, to get to my destinations faster and without too much pain in the hands. What I mean, is that SWB think they can just mark something as a cyclists’ lane and nothing more. They don’t understand that cyclists need the most attention on the road and they need the best roads. People can walk an almost anything, and cars can drive over bad roads without the occupants feeling pain. Most of the imperfections in roads are sent straight to the muscles and bones of the cyclists. Cobblestone roads is for example disgusting to bike on, yet, often I see divided paths, one side for walkers and other for bikers, and they get the cobblestone, whereas the walkers get the asphalt. Sick!

is to bike all around, especially in the Rheinaue

I just went to the Rheinkultur festival there a few weeks ago. Such an awesome and huge park.
