LHR Meet 17th/18th October 2009

Wed Jul 29, 2009 8:21 pm

As it's fast approaching the end of July it's time we arranged our annual October get together at LHR.

The weekend of the 17th/18th has been chosen by Speedbirdie, hopefully this slightly later date will see better weather than last years meet  raincloud

Once again we will base the weekend at The Green Man, good food and beer and handily placed for the airport and various spotting locations.

It's always good to see new faces as well the old ones,so feel free to add yourself to the list for what is always a great weekend.

I very much enjoyed the last meet and my room with full runway views at the Renaissance.
I hope I will be able to make it to the October meet.

Count me in as probable but too early to confirm for certain.

Now I wonder if some visits could be put together around this meet-up.

Shame on me too ! My last visit was in 2004 and I would love to visit again. I'll be there in november to catch a flight to SIN but don't know yet if I can add some time to visit the city but I would also like to join the meet... I put myself on the maybe list for now.

Won't make this one I'm afraid.. Altho I will be in transit on the 19th for about 4 hours before I fly to SIN if anyone will still be around then... Be awesome if someone could get a shot of the SQ 77W departing around 18.30...

Have fun guys... Next time for me

I'll put myself on the maybe list as my October work schedule has not been finalized either. Have to say though, unless I can get a good deal on EI to DUB to avoid that hideous departure tax, even if the work schedule is good I might pass. Be a good planning session for those of us who might still be thinking about that KEF meet in April 2010 to get our act together though scratchchin .

I will really try my very best not to miss out. I have to see if I can get a room with a runway view at the Renaissance maybe an even better one than last time.

I would like to beat my own record of LHR A380 spotting during 24 hours all airlines included. I will even do two nights Plane Spotters deal if I can afford it. I love that really early morning Singapore 380 landing and taxi. It is the nicest thing I have seen since Concorde's demise.

The mid-day Emirates 380 landing is nice too but not quite as nice as the early morning SIA 380 landing. I love the Golden Bird!

I am just kidding... I have taken pictures from A380 myself. My 3rd most viewed is a QF 380 in LAX:

You will always have a much better spotting place than me by sitting in the cockpit in your aircrafts.  airplane   camera   airplane   yes
There was a better way to fly it was called Concorde

That picture was taken from Imperial Hill in LAX, not from the cockpit  Smile

Wherever you took it from, it is a very good picture.
You should try to come to the LHR meet.

There is some great spotting to be done from TGM (old Concorde fan club meeting place)
provided that the weather is taking the planes to land on the proper runway.

Doesn't look good at the moment, that's why I am not on the maybe list.

I have been to TGM several times during meets some years ago.
