I made a hotel reservation at the Courtyard Prague Airport.
While I am aware that the hotel I chose (return visit) is not ideal for any downtown activities, it serves me well for the flights I am looking into.
Plus, the total I am paying for 3 nights is about the same I paid for a single night last August: 4290 CZK (3 nights incl. tax & breakfast) = 163 €.

I'm thinking about using the SQ MAN-MUC service to get part of the way to PRG. Is is easy to continue onwards, and most importantly cheap? By the looks of it, MUC is almost halfway between Munich and Prague anyway!

Return will no doubt be on Ryanair, via wherever is cheap when I book.

Depending on times, Student Agency might be a good idea. From 23€ one-way (40rt), depending on whether you want flex or not. http://www.zluty.cz/online/Booking

Munich is still 8h away from Prague by train... And CSA charge quite a lot for a one way. Apparently there are busses.

OK I'm in. Sounds great, never been to the country and I'd love to see you all again. If it's a weekend then I'm in. Think I'll be driving, not too far from here and I love being on the Autobahn.

I'll pick you up ex MUC if you want. It's right on my route and it is less than 4h from MUC to PRG. I know my car is not as good as a plane but it does have safety cards in the back pocket as you have seen  Smile

That would be great! Thank you, maybe I can upgrade it from an F100 to a 777-300ER  Wink

The timings are pretty much perfect actually; for Friday June 18th the times are MAN 09:20-12:25 MUC, so I should be out of the terminal by 13:00 all being well. Fare is £89.80 o/w, but for a 773ER that's pretty good, I would have to go to the Philippines to beat that, and I'm sure it would end up costing more that way! Big grin

Well, since you asked, and this is a public forum:

It was a girl I met at my best friends wedding - she was the bridesmaid. We got talking and became friends, and she invited me to her wedding. However she seems to be a bit wrong in the head, and her wedding is a carbon copy of my best friends. Same venue, same wedding dress, same date, even want to borrow my friends daughter to be a flower girl again. As a result my friends wife has fallen out with said girl, and is no longer going. If they aint going, then I dont think I will go. Ive only met her once, and she seems a bit of a psycho!

So its time to implement the backup plan, come to Prague (for the second time this year!)  Silly

Macallans I could probably find, most bars will have the cheapo stuff, im sure somewhere will have a 30y/o though.

Blue Moon - forget it, Europeans have taste (Except the Germans, who will happily drink horse piss aka wheat beer), you wont find that pish over here!

Not really the best location... I live not far from there. You have to count 30-45 minutes travel into city centre, and some 90 to the airport. (if not a bit more).

@expedia: It might say "Airport nearby", but either they have a rather broad interpretation of "nearby" or it is a blatant lie.

Kayak tells me its like $35USD per night for those dates. Pretty cheap but the location aint that hot. I drove to PRG from WAW in June with my girlfriend and we stayed at the Radisson SAS (or Blu now) in the city center and it wasnt a bad gig for $70. Parked like 10m away from the entrance on the street without a problem also and got some major airline mileage.

Im gonna add myself to maybe, Ill be staying in the city center if I come. My yank rear end gets pissed off at public transport and waiting around for a damn tram or bus

Now If any A.netter don't mind sharing a room with me ( I swear I don't snore ) then I can definitely make it, I'd love to see Prague and meet some of you a.nutters.

I was thinking about taking a hostel, many do small rooms with four bunks, so if there are four of us that could be an option - it's only a bed after all.

We could couchsurf

Dude, if anyone is that desperate I can just pay for the room and get a double bed. Hostel is ok as a last resort, like if its -40C outside, theres blowing snow and theres nowhere else to go. Plus, if youre single (N/A to myself) you gotta realize youre going to Prague not Riyadh. Its best to have a nice room (+bed), maybe a jacuzzi and a pool in the hotel to have a backup plan in case you pickup some chick when you go out at night. Then if youre me, with a gf a hostel is even harder to do.

That and the last time (and only time) I was in a hostel I felt like I was on some campground. Youve got the shared bathrooms, youve got the strange Europeans who dont know what boxers are   , and then the drunk people start coming in when youre trying to sleep at 6am and its all just wrong. Hehe.

each to their own. I think I shall stay in the Intercontinental again - I spent new year there, and quite fancy returning to the 5 star luxury and free champagne

If I value my girlfriend then I'll stick to the hostel idea

Tempting, but I'd still prefer a hostel actually
