Favorite Holiday Songs

Thu Dec 24, 2009 6:22 am

Couldn't find a thread for this that isn't archived so here goes.

We have a thread for Christmas songs that you hate but how about your favorite holiday music? For me it would be:

Sone Day At Chistmas by Stevie Wonder

Snoopy's Christmas by The Royal Guardsmen

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jlf---13Q0g

Sleigh Ride by The Ventures

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dL2bAEO9tnY

and anything from the album "A Christmas Gift For You from Phil Spector".
A detour is a choice between two tasks, each with its own pros and cons

None of them! Well, actually I really like the Ronnettes version of "Slaybells!"
For that matter the Phil Spector Christmas album is even tolerable to somewhat enjoyable by this nice Jewish boy.  rotfl

I love Christmas music!
My favorite Christmas album is The Carpenters 'Christmas Portrait'.
This album is flawless.
Karen Carpenter's beautiful voice, Kevin Carpenter's amazing piano arrangements along with Peter Knight's orchestral arrangements lends it's self to a perfect Christmas album.
Peter Knight was also the orchestra arranger/conductor for the Moody Blues Days Of Future Passed album.

Bing Crosby and Andy Williams have some wonderful Christmas songs out there. I love them all.

For me, it's just got to be Frank Kelly's Christmas Countdown.

Frank Kelly played Father Jack in the TV Series Father Ted.

No fair! ANYTHING by Karen Carpenter, even a sneeze, is awesome.

I love Mariah Carey's "All I want for Christmas" and of course the King doing "Blue Christmas" :
more than anything else. Also 'Stille Nacht' and "O Tannenbaum" but ONLY in German.

I detest the song with the 'Rum Pum Pum Pums' in it.

Merry Christmas to all  Smile

Very true!
Even their Beatles covers were awesome!

So that's what it is about that song that makes me want to puke!
Little Drummer Boy is the worst Christmas song ever made!  vomit
Luckily the Carpenters only played a 10 second instrumental of that song in a medley on the Christmas Portrait album.
Even Karen Carpenter wouldn't degrade herself by singing "Rum Pum Pum Pum".
