LHR Meet, 06 Feb 2010

Fri Jan 08, 2010 12:29 pm

Just a quick heads-up: on 06 February, a couple of netAirspace members (most of them a.net members as well, former or current) will meet at LHR, for some spotting and a few pints at the Green Man.

Most of us will arrive around lunchtime on saturday, and stay overnight. 10 folks have signed up so far.

Maybe some more of you are in the area and would like to join us?  Smile

Cheers
Zak

Count me in. I shall arrive by wonderous National Express coach no doubt, and probably depart on one too. So much for flying to an airport...  silly

That you're not on the list of participants yet, Graham? Disappointing, indeed. But there is still time - grab a flight and join us for a few pints.  bigthumbsup

I'll arrive with BA0963 from HAM on 06 Feb at 0800, and will depart with BA0972 on 07 Feb at 1815.  Smile

I'll send you our meeting schedule and my contact details at least a week before the meet.

Looks like we have at least 12 people together already - I'm really looking forward to it!

Here's the plan: fly OXF-GVA with flyBaboo, then GVA-LHR with BA. Sorted.

Count me as a maybe or even likely.

I really do want to do the OXF flight before it disappears... and it's a reasonable £89 one way. However, the timings aren't great if you want to return the same day - compounded by the £299* or so that BA would be asking for the GVA-LHR leg!  Wow!

*or a cool £863 one way in Club Europe...

Sure, will do. I'll probably be the first one to arrive for the meet, anyway, so I'll be in no rush.

Where exactly do I find you? I would assume that LHR has more than 1 connection desk...  Wink

The rough schedule so far:

The spotters will meet around lunchtime. Until 1500 local time, landings will be on rwy 27R, so Myrtle Avenue is no option until 3 p.m. In the afternoon, we will meet at the Green Man, for a few pints, dinner, and more pints  Wink

Most of us will stay overnight, so on sunday, there will be some more spotting. Alternatively, we can see if we can find a few "Plane Stupid" activists whom we can annoy. Big grin

If you are interested in the meet, please send me a PM with your contact details, and I will send you back mine.

Looking forward to a great weekend in LHR!

Cheers
Zak

This is why it took me so long to realise you were in there
