Fri Jan 29, 2010 8:48 pm

Website has been down for me all day. Anyone else? Anyone know what's going on?

As a work around, type in into your browser and you should have access.

Down for me too. Which is odd as I checked some accounts this morning from the homepage. Mobile banking is down too.
Doors open, right hand side, next stop is Springfield.

Join a credit union. Fees are lower or nonexistant and interest rates are higher. I refuse to do business with any of the big bailout corporations.

BOA pissed me off when they tried to make me pay a $6 fee to cash a check drawn on their bank. I had a reimbursement check for $65 from my second job and just wanted to get the cash. Can they not check the account right then and make sure the funds are available? I think I surprised the teller when I said forget it, grabbed the check and walked out. The only reason I even bothered with all of this is because the first check bounced and I didn't want to deal with another $30 charge on my own account.

I use a local bank at home that my family has been with forever, but they don't have branches where I'm based at now. I saved the check and deposited it last time I was home. All my usual paychecks are direct deposit, so I haven't bothered to get another account.

One has to wonder if some hackers have been involved in causing this crash of BoA's computer systems. There are many out there who want to either have stupid fun or actively trying to destroy this bank for their own political beliefs. If someone did hack the system, it is a terrorist act and those involved should go to jail for the rest of their lives. It also points out the vunarablilty of our computer networks and hope they and others realize the need for tight security processes.
