Here ya go:

Bedford, MA (where I grew up, not where I live now....but I still consider it my hometown)

There's another church just down the street, too. That would just about do it for the skyline.

To save space, here are links to pics of Seattle's skyline (thanks to wiki). The first is taken from Alki in West Seattle. North is to the left. The second is from Kerry Park on Queen Anne, which happens to be a 5-10 minute walk from my home. Note that Mt. Rainier is visible in the distance.

Munich, Free State of Bavaria, Germany

Munich has a very classy skyline, with no building being higher than 146m (479ft), as when they had finished this "skyscraper" in 2003 a citizens' decision was held and 50,2% people voted that no building within the city limits may be higher than 100m (328ft) in the future.

Im from a very small city called Lincoln. The skyline is dominated by a massive Cathedral, next door to Lincoln Castle.

Again, gorgeous skyline. Auckland is probably my #1 city I've never been to that I most want to visit, judging by photos.

Former home town (PDX):

There's something about Portland's skyline that I really love. I don't know if its the architecture or the surrounding scenery or both, but there's something sleepy and cozy and utterly wonderful about it, IMO.

Here's my hometown; Boise, Idaho. Unfortunately, our skyline has been heavily impacted by urban sprawl, not unlike LA or Salt Lake City for example. We have a spread out city, which leads to a rather unimpressive skyline for a metropolitan area of over 650,000.

Here's a link to a fantastic photo album of downtown Boise and its skyline (not by me):
http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/show...hread.php?t=175784&highlight=Boise

http://www.boisestate.edu/news/photoservices/BSU_Gallery_08/images/D_0705_063_016.jpg
http://www.zebpalmer.com/wp-content/themes/zebpalmer_grey2/port/portimg/boisefireworks.jpg

What we lack in size and density, we make up for by having a very active downtown for a city our size. Lots of restaurants, shops, and weekly festivals and marketplaces bring people from all over the city. I actually live within walking distance to the core of downtown, and I couldn't think of a place I'd rather live.

+1, Pittsburgh is the best!!!, not to mention the easiest way to get into the city from the south, is easily one of the best "entrances" to a skyline in the world.

I know what you mean. Every building seems to fit. It all looks artistic to me. I hate the Hatfield Justice Center (just to the right of KOIN Center pyramid), but it works. SEA feels that way to me, too. Everything sits right where it should.

I was in both BOI and SLC last summer. I still can't believe each city got rid of a downtown mall that I thought were great. The price of progress, I suppose.

I have two cities to share with you, neither of which has a particularly modern skyline!

This, the city of Oxford, needs little introduction.

Durham, on the other hand, is little known...

Agreed. That's a great view of downtown PDX as you come out of the tunnel on 26 heading East into downtown. The views from the Marquam Bridge are great too.

One of my favorites and soon to be one of my two home skylines (I say two because I soon will live in Dayton but will be spending a lot of time down visiting the family in Cincinnati once I am stationed up there at Wright-Patt).

However, everyone in Cincinnati knows that this is the best Skyline:

I've lived here all my life, and while yes, it is a craphole, I'm proud to call this craphole my home.

There are some nice areas around here, I just picked the bad ones. We have a nice hilly, wooded area about a 5 minute walk from my house that's huge, some nicer areas to live (and plenty of bad ones admittedly). We have good transport connections via train and motorways so it's not all bad. We get the Liverpool Lime Street-London Euston Express through Runcorn too. I won't go into why but if you want to then i'll explain it on a PM if you ask because i'm already far enough off topic.

Here's where I grew up:

Fort Wayne, IN

Even though I have lived in London (UK) and now San Francisco, I still consider Fort Wayne, IN, my original hometown.

Beirut is such a striking city. It's definitely one I want to visit one day.

It's a great city! I just love it.
