US Traitor Adam Gadahn Possibly Captured

Mon Mar 08, 2010 1:24 am

This is huge - just a couple days after a new video in which he urged Muslim-born Americans to attack their home country in shopping malls and public transit systems, there are muddled reports from Pakistan regarding his capture.

The reported arrest of Gadahn follows the recent detention of several Afghan Taliban commanders in Karachi, including the group's No. 2. Those detentions have been seen as a sign that Pakistan, which has been criticized as an untrustworthy ally, was cooperating more fully with Washington.

Could this be a further sign of Pakistan's efforts to really get the job done, or if true, is it just luck? Hard to know.

Gadahn was arrested in the sprawling southern metropolis of Karachi in recent days, two officers who took part in the operation said. A senior government official also confirmed the arrest, but said it happened Sunday. The discrepancy could not immediately be resolved.

They spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to release the information.

Whatever the case, let's hope it's actually him.

Well the sooner he's arrested the sooner he can be put on trial. Hopefully they did catch him. There has been a lot of good new out of Pakistan lately, let's hope the trend continues

Bring im back and try him....He already has been indicted.

But until I see footage of him in cuffs, I would advise to take this report with a grain of salt.

You know, I can stand the terrorists that were born in the middle east. I can even tolerate people who were born in other countries, then is taking part in something that has nothing to do with them. BUT when the person is a traitor from our country, it takes it to a much higher level. I hope they throw the book at this guy (literally)   J/K.

No but seriously, this is a huge win, if in fact it is true.

IMHO, there's only one penalty for high treason: Firing Squad. It's a shame that they did away with that up here in the 90's.

No, he'll be watched 24/7. I'm sure everyone will want to make an example of him.

Before you do any of that, assuming you get the right guy - ho ho ho considering some of the Gitmo errors - you must teach him how to pronounce Melbun - the large city in Victoria that he tried to threaten but in fact made nasty noises about a small village close to Cambridge England : Mel - BORN. The Vics would never forgive you if he went to the grave unable to pronounce their proudest posession.

Why not give him a little taste of his own rhetoric and ideologies......either shoot him, stone him or behead him and see how he feels about those ideas! Alternatively, send him to the desert for a very long walk with only a knife and a small bottle of water and let him think long and hard what he can do with both in the middle of nowhere in blazing heat.

No problem with that at all. I think in the case where British nationals have been found to be fighting for the other side this should be the penalty. It just seems now that they get few years in jail almost as to avoid "upsetting" their community. You may disagree with a war, and you have any number of ways to protest it. Taking up arms against your own country isn't an acceptable one.

Firing squad used to be the honourable, military method of execution (the civilian equivalent was beheading). Traitors used to be executed by hanging, which was considered a dishonourable form of execution.
Or the British method of 500 years ago for dealing with traitors (as used for the perpetrators of the gunpowder plot) was to be hanged (to be barely alive), drawn and quartered:

Quote:

1. Dragged on a hurdle (a wooden frame) to the place of execution. This is one possible meaning of drawn.[2]
2. Hanged by the neck for a short time or until almost dead (hanged).
3. Disembowelled and emasculated and the genitalia and entrails burned before the condemned's eyes (this is another meaning of drawn—see the reference to the Oxford English Dictionary below)[3][4]
4. The body beheaded, then divided into four parts (quartered).

Pour encourager les autres, always a good idea!

But seriously, the British hanged their traitors, even after WW2. William Joyce, aka "Lord Haw Haw", a British-Irish fascist (who claimed American citizenship later to escape the gallows), who went to Germany when WW2 started to set up an English language propaganda broadcast network for the Nazis, had an 8 am appointment with Mr. Pierrepoint after the war (AFAIK in HMP Wandsworth). So did Jahn amery, again a British fascist, who went to Germany at the beginning of WW2 to found the SS subunit "British Freecorps".
Another British traitor I know about, the British Army captain Patrick Vaughan Heenan, was executed by his Royal Military guards while awaiting cout martial. He had been caught redhanded using a portable HF radio transmitter to guide Japanese bombers on British targets during the Malaya campaign in 1942. Awaiting trial in Singapore, he taunted his guards that soon they would be prisoners, while he would be giving them orders (Singapore was by then surrounded by Japanese forces and the British would have to surrender a few days later). Rather than to have their prisoner go free, the military police officers drew lots and a sergeant finished Heenan off on on the quayside with his service Webley revolver.

The romans crucified their terrorists, christians probably being the best example. But that is probably too jewish of a penalty for our muslim friend.
