Did Anyone Watch Undercover Boss Last Night?

Mon Mar 22, 2010 1:11 pm

I watched this show for the 2nd time last night; the other one I watched was the one with the 7-11 CEO. This one was kinda boring, watching the guy answer phone calls and try to pack boxes quickly.

I believe I would have been greatly entertained just watching all the conveyors and other package-handling machines in the Fulfillment Center doing their thing for an hour...

I note that they fired the fat chick. I think it was a chick...

Didn't see it.

Did they show the firing? Probably not.

Welcome to America: You will be sued and your dumb TV show will be used as evidence.

The show has been going down-hill since the first episode which was the only good one.

Still, nothing like a little free PR. Nothing 'discovered' on these shows wasn't already widely known.

Not to mention that each episode follows the same script.

Was the first episode actually good?

I saw the promos for it and was astonished that this was what CBS was using its SuperBowl ratings boost for: Watch garbage collectors, um, collect garbage....

Actually, I think the second episode was the best so far....Hooters.
The CEO rewarded his good employees much better than the other guys.

I thought we'd see some big names like Walmart, Coca Cola, Boeing or companies of that sort.

oh well.

Woah there.......

It wasn't that good.

It's a great opportunity that any blue-collar employing company would be stupid not to jump on.

Was she fired or did she quit? I just finished watching it online a few minutes ago. The bullet at the end of the show said she was "retrained" but also "no longer with the company". After bitching her out, the CEO said she would be "retrained" and gave her a hug as she got up to leave. She was in the audience when he addressed the company as well, even though they didn't show any clips of her. If I had to guess I would say that saying she is "no longer with the company" was the polite way of saying she was eventually fired but I'm not sure - the way it was worded in the OP made me believe she was going to be fired right there in the CEO's office on the show.

Asked to resign, given a severance package, and asked to sign a "no-suit" agreement would be my guess.

That was the only one I saw, so I can't comment on the others. But I got a real respect for Larry O'Donnell at Waste Mgmt as a result.
