TV Shows You're Not Watching But Probably Should

Wed Mar 31, 2010 7:53 pm

With my life gaining some normalcy as I am now back in the 8 to 5 working world I actually have time to sit down and watch TV again. Which got me to thinking that I was pretty much watching the same stuff on TV all the time.... usually reruns of older sitcoms and NBC's Thursday night line up. Now that I have time to watch TV and/or catch up with stuff on Hulu or OnDemand I've discovered all sorts of stuff I've been missing.

I just started watching Breaking Bad as the new season started the other week.

After watching the first two episodes of this season I wonder why I wasn't watching it all from the beginning (especially as I am missing two season's worth of backstory).

What else should we be watching that we aren't?

Nice thread!

I shouldn't watch Private Practice..The storylines are so lame but Kate Walsh and KaDee Strickland are SOOOO hot.

For those who don't know Kate:

And for those who don't know KaDee:

Spartacus: Blood and Sand

Came home for vacation from Afghanistan to catch an episode of this on one of the movie channnels. Can't wait to get the set when it's released. A very yummy Lucy Lawless and others worth the eye candy for both teams and it has a decent story line.

Modern Family. Quite possibly the funniest show on TV right now...

I hear Mad Men is good but I have yet to see a single episode. I don't have HBO, but I could at least rent the DVD's...I should do that.

I have also heard Everybody Hates Chris is hilarious, and I see it on TV a lot, but have never checked out even a minute of it.

Awesome show. Bryan Cranston is a grossly underrated actor in my book.

Mad Men is on AMC, don't need HBO to watch it.

I don't know why he doesn't get more credit.... as Hal on Malcom in the Middle -- especially the first few seasons -- you really saw that he had the chops.

I want to get the first two seasons of Breaking Bad on DVD but they are massively backordered on Amazon right now.

I've been watching it and really liking it. I think any show that can cast Ed O'Neil and not have me instantly think Al Bundy is a good thing.

Modern Family and Community are pretty much the two best new shows on TV at the moment.

Woops, I knew that...don't know why I thought it was HBO.

Great show, I love it. My favorite episode was a few weeks ago, with the Pottery/Sailing classes. Danny Pudi shows who he is, Joel McHale shows he has it, and Chevy Chase shows he still has it.

Don't forget the lovely Alison Brie is on both Community and Mad Men.

She is gorgeous in my book...unfortunately, I haven't seen truly great acting or, in the case of Community, humor out of her. Then again, I haven't seen Mad Men, and that role would (I imagine) take much more acting prowess than Community.
