Name That Skyline's City!

Wed May 12, 2010 3:04 pm

There's a feature on Yahoo right now about the best cities to ride out the recession in, and there's a pic of a city skyline I'm unfamiliar with. Can anyone tell me what it is?

(Then, we could make this into a fun thread by posting pics of other skylines and having subsequent posters guess which it is (nothing too obvious though, like the Transamerica Pyramid or the Empire State.))

Here's the city I don't recognize:

Pancakes are delicious.

It's written Austin in the link of the pic. Could it be this city?

At least find a pic w/o the city name in the original link.

BTW that pic of Sao Paulo makes the city look like an urban hell.

For Homers.... I almost wanted to say San Francisco but I knew that was off. My second guess is Boston after a little help from google images.

Mayor's.

1) Don't really know except it is a city that has a Holiday Inn as a prominent building. If I had to wager a guess it is a smallish city in the foothills of the Appalachians in the south.

2) A SWAG on this one... but I'd say Rome.

3) Chicago

Sorry for the poor picture quality. My lens had sustained some damage.
As far as the other photo, it's blurry because of the exhaust coming out those Aviadvigatel (Soloviev) PS-90A turbofans.

The church is the Loretto Chapel, famous for the "miraculous staircase". The pueblo style building in the background is the Inn and Spa at Loretto.
