The Where Do You Really Stand Politically? Test

Wed Jul 21, 2010 1:15 am

Alright so lets see where you really swing politically:

Go here http://www.politicalcompass.org/test

And post your results (just copy the link to your image results)

Here's mine:

Sounds about right. I'm mildly conservative yet for the most part I don't give a damn what everybody else does with their life and such, I believe everybody can do what they want, within reason.

This was interesting... Not sure how well this test works in different cultures though, a conservative/liberal opinion in one culture can be seen a bit differently somewhere else. It could be a Nordic test would had put me less in the left, dont know.

The Political Compass

Economic Left/Right: -4.38
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -5.33

Since I cannot transfer the graphic over look at this way - I am deep into the lower left corner. I am parctially a communist. I do agree that I am left-center as to politics.

I did this test yesterday in the context of our current election campaign, and can't beb othered doing it again for the graphic - but my result was pretty similar to stasisLAX's. Which, in terms of this test and historical figures, makes us more left/libertarian than Ghandi and the Dalai Lama.

By the way, I don't believe the "International Chart" they plot is accurate. For example, Angela Merkel is in the upper right field. However, I'm sure her answers would have been rather similar to mine, as my choices are pretty much "German mainstream". So she, and I expect other European heads of government as well, should rather be in the bottom left square.

Agree with the result on the Authoritarian / Libertarian axis but I view myself as more centrist on the Left / Right axis. Probably due to the answers I gave on the question about companies and their behavior. This can be misleading as I'm strongly supportive of a free market economy but do expect companies to act in a socially responsible manner.

The results are centered pretty much on the US though, which leans more to the right than e.g. Europe. Their international map is off, especially when it comes to social issues.

Def. very US centred questions. Interesting is that most if not all of the Europeans on the forum ended up pretty much in the same place. I wonder whether we could find European political quiz that is in English (and not from England or Ireland which lean pretty close to the US)
