Any Watch Lovers? Post Your Pics!

Fri Aug 13, 2010 3:54 am

Hi All,
Anyone into watches on here? I have a thing for Omega watches, just the classy timeless look of them. Also they don't get the attention a Rolex would, so it's something only a watch lover would really notice.

I have these two:

Omega Deville Quartz (I hate winding watches)

Omega Deville Coaxial Small Seconds (Belonged to my late father)

I had an old Breitling that looked similar to that Omega. The fundamental design is clean, low key, and fairly timeless. A welcome change from some of the current Breitlings that I think are too large and flashy..... even for the porn stars that wear such models  .

At the end of the day, every major watch maker seems to make some over the top ghastly designs. I like the Rolex Explorer and Sea Dweller (non-deep sea), most Omegas, some Breitlings, a couple Tag Heuers.
Edit: Forgot to mention some of the lower key IWC models as well!

For what it's worth, I'm not much of a watch enthusiast, though I like many things mechanical. I ended up selling the old Breitling I mentioned above. I did get an Omega Seamaster GMT (2535.80) as an engagement ring "rebate" (romantic terminology, I know).

Good watches!

My everyday watch:

Swiss Army Renegade..it is seriously the best watch I've ever had! Its been through so much abuse and it still looks new even though it is almost 7 years old.

My other watches:

Chase Durer special forces 1000 UDT

And

Omega Speedmaster Legend (got this as a present from my parents).

Just have a pair of Seikos. A world time Sportura, and the other one is Seiko Velatura Kinetic Direct Drive, that's the bigger of the two.

I don't collect watches much now - I see to collect rare books instead.

It is an Omega c.911 Flightmaster produced in the early '70s, the earlier c.910 was released in 1969.
It is a reasonably chunky 43x49x11 mm and 139 grams but very comfortable to wear.(the solid gold c.910 weighs in at a hefty 250 grams!)

Cheers

I have the following:

Omega Seamaster Professional Chronometer, my daily watch
Omega Samaster Aqua Terra Co-Axial Chronometer, also a daily use watch, currently needs servicing
JLC Master Compressor Geographic, which I use when travelling.

What I really want is a B.R.M. I don't care what model, they are all awesome watches, my wife says no, especially after buying the JLC.

The only "nice" watch I have is a Breitling Colt (not my pic):

I wear a Fossil watch for every-day use.

Show-off watch-whore...... stop making me feel inadequate. Now I'm too embarrassed to post pics of my Dunhills City Tamer or the Omega Co-Axial Seamaster, or the vintage 1957 Omega or the Tiffany watch my mother gave me or even my incredibly exclusive Mickey Mouse watch I got at Disney Land on New Years when I spent over $100 at the gift shop, with your Disney card if I remember right!

One of my prized possessions is my fathers old Omega. I keep it in one of the watch turners. The band is missing and it needs repair, but it's a piece of him. I do miss the old man.

Lazy. What'll you do when the world as we know it ends?

Is the "Samaster" the Hong Kong/Macau copy?   That's a nice watch. We got one for my wife in Geneva last November. It's a classic.
