Kaiserslautern just won 2:0 at home vs. Bayern!

Earlier today I declared some guy mad for predicting a Lautern victory. FRACO7X and me were in Oberhausen to watch RWO vs. FSV tonight, we stopped at a gas station on the way to the stadium to buy smokes. The guy at the cash desk told us that RWO will win, that Lautern will win and that Schalke will win. Well, RWO and Lautern both won, when Schalke wins as well tomorrow, I'll declare the gas station guy to the official successor of Paul the Octopus.

Unfortunately up to now he is right. Will never go again to the Aral in Oberhausen!

Nevertheless a great day today. Flying, spotting and soccer! Great combination.

It was a friggin' great day, we had eveything we like: planes and footie. You even had flying as well!

I was also surprised of RWO, nice stadium, friendly people, and great food! Ok, let's forget the closed road to the parking lot (   ) and the death slow ticket service... well, I can live with the slow ticket service since they gave us seating tickets for a price I still can't believe!

I am looking forward to the upcoming Konferenz, a few nice games today!

Oh yes, Duisburg jumps on top of the 2. Liga chart with a 4:1 vs. Ingolstadt.

All three goals from Wolfsburg were friggin' awesome, Diego and Dzeko are making "richtig Programm", a real pleasure to watch! The whole Konferenz is actually a pleasure to watch, one goal after the other, I really like that!

And my friends from Gelsenkirchen are not doing well vs. Hannover? Muhahahahah.

So far this season reminds me why I stopped participating in the Tippspiel. Bayern loses against Lautern? Schlacke loses against Hannover? Wolfsburg loses 3:4 after leading 3:0 at half time? How the fvck do you predict that?

I got 0 points for these three games because I was completely wrong.

It is beyond me how Wolfsburg could lose with 3:4 after leading with 3:0, their defense seems to be the biggest joke of the whole league. Bayern's and Schalke's defeats were surprising as well, I never thought that Schalke would stay there with 0 points after the second matchday although I really like that!

The show continues, Pauli vs. Hoffenheim now!

St. Pauli lost in the evening game with 0:1 vs. Hoffenheim. Tomorrow we have two games left until the 2nd matchday of the 1. Bundesliga is complete, these games are:

- Leverkusen vs. Gladbach
- Stuttgart vs. Dortmund

Sportschau.de is listing Elkin Soto as the scorer of the 3:1 but the reporter in the Sportstudio yesterday night said it was indeed Morten Rasmussen. I have no clue what is official now.

I guess it depends on how they determine who the goalscorer is, in cases where the ball is deflected. I'll have to rewatch the situation, since I can't remember if the ball was going to miss the goal if it hadn't been for the deflection or not.

What the hell happened in Leverkusen? I mean, I don't mind a Schützenfest, but Gladbach winning 6:3 is pretty unusual? Could it be that the Torfabrik is proving that it's worth having that name?

The new official ball could indeed be the reason for the many goals. I mean, look at the first matchday, there we already had 27 goals and on this matchday we had not less than 39 goals. I think we never had as many as 66 goals after just two matchdays in all the previous seasons. Also unusual is that we didn't have a 0:0 in any game of the 1. and 2. Bundesliga so far, there was at least one goal in every game.

Many players (especially the goalkeepers) already complained about the ball before the season started, they said that it is simply irrepressible in many situations.

I don't know what to think about Torfabrik anymore, the players should make (or avoid) goals but not the ball itself.

I would really like to check this ball out (maybe I will do it at the soccer-hall next weekend).

http://www.mopo.de/2010/20100830/spo...oll_petric_rausgeekelt_werden.html

Seems like the HSV wants to get rid of Petric. The Mopo is already asking "Soll Petric rausgeekelt werden?", and rumours are becoming bigger that they no longer plan with him. If they do want to sell Petric, then the HSV (especially Mr Hoffmann and Mr Veh) will once again prove their incompetence and commit a terrible mistake.

Petric is the only one who has come close to doing the Drecksarbeit that Ivica Olic used to do before he started doing the exact same thing at Bayern, and if Ruud van Nistelrooy gets injured, then there are no alternatives. José Paolo "Ich kann nicht kommen, weil ich Flugangst habe" Guerrero isn't at his best and isn't a Kämpfertyp, Markus Berg has proven to be a lemon after all the Vorschusslorbeeren last season, and other alternatives are non-existent. Hell, rumours even say that if they get rid of Petric, the HSV will make a move at getting van der Vaart back.

EDIT: They now report in the short edition of the Sportclub that the VfB Stuttgart is close to acquiring the services of the Argentinian-Italian Mauro Camoranesi from Juventus.

Camoranesi... soon, we will have the all-star team of the World Cup 2002 in the Bundesliga...

What a crazy match day. No draws, 7 teams win on the road - only Köln and Bayern did not manage to win auswärts. 39 goals, and almost all top teams seem to have significant problems with their defense.

After 2 matchdays, 5 teams have 6 points - three of them potential relegation candidates.

This could be an interesting season...

That's for sure!

By the way, why did they split the Sportclub on NDR into two pieces? That's rubbish! And what happened to the show on Sport1 that is showing summary reports of the Premier League every Monday night after the Spieltagsanalyse? They didn't show it last week and they won't show it tomorrow. Did they lose the rights to broadcast it? These are two things that annoy me!

And while we are at it, the ZDF gave my beloved Sportstudio a new slot in their program scheduling, it will begin at 23:00h now because they show a series from the year 2002 every Saturday night now. I am so sick and tired of the morons at the ZDF! Why the heck do they think that a series from 2002 is more important than the top game of the recent Bundesliga matchday?

Are you fucking kidding me? I just switched to WDR and could read there: "Aus technischen Gründen entfällt Zeiglers wunderbare Welt des Fußballs". WTF? They show Bundesliga am Sonntag instead. Maybe he should stop broadcasting his show from his apartment in Bremen and move to some WDR studio in Cologne instead, there they have the technical stuff to bring a show on air on time. This is not the first time they have technical problems, in the past they often failed with building up a phone line with some viewer.

It is official now: Bundesliga on free-tv just sucks arse!!! Either you see it late at night (see my post above) or - in this case - not at all! I am so glad that I have Liga-total!

And if anyone wants to see Arjen Robben play again, you're going in for a long wait. Christian Nerlinger said that it's highly unlikely that he will play this year, because the healing is not going well. Too much liquid in the muscle.

The transfer market will close at 23:59h tomorrow night, I am really curious who else will come to the Bundesliga in these last few hours. In case you are interested, here is an overview of all transfers so far.

And we have Monday night football today, Fortuna Düsseldorf welcomes Hertha BSC, kick-off as usual at 20:15h.

Latest HSV rumor - they try a last-minute sale with Petric, in order to raise the money for getting van der Vaart back to Hamburg. Though it's more than doubtful that this will work still until tomorrow night.

I'm not sure that getting rid of Petric is a good idea. Van Nistelrooy is an excellent striker, but he's 34, so you can't count on him staying fit during the entire season. Guerrero seems to be in good condition these days, but we know all too well how that can change again any time. I would not want to rely on such a diva.

Petric is said to be a difficult character, but he was also a solid striker over the past 2 seasons. And the HSV was not known for a surplus of solid strikers over the past years...

As I said, Petric is the kind of guy who, while he may be an asshole to some, could also be the kind of guy that tends to do the Drecksarbeit, much like an Ivica Olic did and still does at Bayern. The HSV needs him, unless they want to maintain a surplus (or lack thereof) of reliable strikers capable of complementing or even replacing RvN.

Rumoured transfer fee of 13 mln euro.

Hopefully for him he'll play now some more, and will thus strengthen the dutch squad that clearly lacks a striker.

It's the question everyone surely is asking. But since it's Länderspielpause, let's forget about that and focus on what's important: EM-Quali is coming up! First Germany vs Belgium on Friday, followed by Germany vs Azerbaijan. But before both games, I suggest watching the Tatort this Wednesday on WDR, because it's an episode with Schimanski!

Huntelaar is an excellent draft. I was hoping for years that he would come to the Bundesliga, even though I was obviously more hoping for him to join the HSV (Holländischer Sport-Verein  ).

Still, a couple of "but"s here, and these have nothing to do with my strong dislike for Schalke:

First, as Patrick said, where do they get all the money from?

Then, as for Huntelaar himself, Magath can only hope that Huntelaar will find his old killer instinct again. If yes, congrats, Schalke has the best striker in the league, and probably the best overall offense. If not...

Finally, as for Schalke as a team - was a striker really what they needed most badly? They have Raul, they have Farfan, and Jendrisek and Edu as subs. Not the worst offense, if you ask me. But if you saw the first two matches, it was obvious that Schalke is lacking a) a good playmaker and b) a reliable defense.

So if Schalke was in a position to invest big money into Dutch legs, then I wonder if van der Vaart, Affelay or van Bronckhorst wouldn't have been better options for them.

Now, Magath can only pray that Huntelaar and Raul will start scoring like crazy. Schalke's vogelwilde defense is always good for 1-3 opponent goals, so in order to be on the safe side, their offense would better score 4 per game.

I wonder how they are supposed to do that, though, if they won't get any support from the midfield. So apparently, more praying and hoping is needed - for Rakitic to play an awesome season, Moritz to get a big breakthrough, and / or Jones to finally get his act together.

We shall see. And I sure won't pray or hope for them, sorry. As much as I respect Magath, but seeing Schalke fail is still just too good...

And it goes on - Schalke signed Atletico's José Manuel Jurado, for a reported €13m.
That sure closes the gap in their midfield, but increases the wondering about how on earth they are financing these deals.

Well, isn't Real Madrid the living example of all these kind of deals, having debts beyond half a billion euros and still investing 100s of euros.

That's not exactly what he said yesterday on the Dutch television. He said he's ready for it but if there will come a good enough bid he'll move definitely. Actually he told yesterday he has time enough (30 hours yesterday) to choose. Considering his wife Germany will be better for him as well, he told he wants to play football and not be a bench-warmer.

If van der Vaart would come back to Hamburg, this would really change my life.

No, really! Sylvie used to go to the same gym where I occasionally played sqaush. What a hottie!

So if she moved back, it would be a perfect reason for me to pick up squash again. And I could sure need it...

Quoting Severnaya (Reply 85):
he told he wants to play football and not be a bench-warmer.

Why didn't he think that way before going to Real? It was more than clear that he will only be a bench-warmer at Real.

Quoting LTU932 (Reply 84):
though I still think Özil will be spending most of the time on the bench like vdV

Being the super-star at Werder or the HSV doesn't mean that you will play the same role at a club like Real!

Latest news from bild.de:

+++ 13.45 Uhr: Eine Rückkehr von Rafael van der Vaart in die Bundesliga wird es in dieser Transferperiode nicht geben. Dem HSV wäre die Verpflichtung des Holländers, bei Real Madrid trotz Vertrag bis 2013 auf dem Abstellgleis, zu teuer gewesen.

Well that's not entirely true, with some injuries he still managed to play 32 league matches in his first season and 26 last year, so not so bad as many people think. Actually even more than he played at the Dutch team in the Bundesliga (aka HSV).

I'm wondering what the other two interested teams will do, if they'll bid on him or not.

Stuttgart signed Camoranesi from Juve.

Schalke's shopping spree continues - they signed defender Nicolas Plestan from OSC Lille, who will replace him with HSV's David Rozehnal (good riddance!).

Shame. I'll stay fat then...

Seriously, I'd have been surprised if that transfer would have worked out.

The transfer-market is closed now. I already closed at 18:00h this year, usually are transfers possible till 23:59h. I really thought that Bayern would pull someone out of the hat in the last few hours but I was wrong, they didn't buy a single new player.

Quoting LTU932 (Reply 79):
EM-Quali is coming up! First Germany vs Belgium on Friday, followed by Germany vs Azerbaijan.

That should be a walk in the park for the German team. But I have to say that I am annoyed by the break after just two Bundesliga matchdays already, fortunately is there an "Englische Woche" on the 21st/22nd of September.

Quoting LTU932 (Reply 79):
But before both games, I suggest watching the Tatort this Wednesday on WDR, because it's an episode with Schimanski!

Thanks for the tip! I will definitely watch it tomorrow!

In the end, vdV is going to London, he has been hired by Tottenham. Oh, and Mr Camoranesi has become a Schwabe. This ain't going to make the VfB very popular with my parents though, as especially my father hates Camoranesi.  http://www.sport1.de/de/fussball/fussball_dfbteam/artikel_281960.html

And in other news, the Bild-Zeitung is reporting that apparently, Ballack will still be captain. For me, a bad decision. This is probably the result of Ballack yet again whining about the whole debate. Philipp Lahm did well as captain, so why not give him a chance? Ballack hat ausgedient, basta!

Since six days is clear that all three German teams are playing in the Euro League, why the heck doesn't the DFL publish the exact kick-off times for the next three or four upcoming Bundesliga matchdays? It is the same crap year after year, these short term schedulings are only annoying, you know the exact dates when plane and train tickets already cost a shitload of money.

Patrick

Edit:

Forget what I wrote, they just published the schedule two minutes ago!

Löw has decided that Ballack will once again be captain if he's back to his best form. For the moment, Lahm will be captain. This is where I ask what the fuck is going on? Wenn er Ballack rausschmeißen will, soll er das doch sagen. Er soll nicht den feigen Weg gehen, denn selbst Ballack hat es nicht verdient, auf Raten abgesägt zu werden (dabei bin ich pro Lahm).

And here's something hilarious: http://www.sport1.de/de/fussball/fus...imera_division/artikel_282302.html

I mean, if he knew from the start that Özil and Khedira don't speak Spanish, why is Mourinho bitching about it? He should instead act, make them take Spanish lessons three times a week between training sessions instead of complaining that both are not integrated because they don't speak Castillian.

L1VE is already joking about that in their Sami und Mesi bei Real comedy series (listen to: "Spanisch [02.09.2010]").  I really like the spoken house advertising in this comedy, the best so far were:

- "Heute bei Real... vollmundiger Rotwein für nur 2 Euro und 99 Pesos. Geben Sie sich mal wieder richtig die Alicante"
- "Heute bei Real... frisch gemetzeltes an der Metzgertheke von Metzgermeister Metzelder"

I fed completely up with international matches I guess. First the World Cup with these utterly annyong horns and today a completely boring "Gegurke" from the German team.    I already know what I will do on Tuesday evening... everything else but not watching this crap. Please UEFA (or FIFA), make sure that international matches are scheduled for Wednesdays in the future, so that the national leagues can play without interruption on every weekend!

True. But then let the qualifiers take place at a Wednesday at 15:00h or so, then we don't have to pass on Bundesliga on a weekend within the season. Everyone who likes such a crap can take a day off work an go there to watch it. Personally I rather watch a Kreisliga B game rather than a qualifier (for whatever) of the German national team nowadays!

Klopp supports the BVB Fans in not going to the Derby against Scheiss 04. Very good in my opinion!!!! +50% on the Ticketprices is a scandal hochfünf! A Sitzplatz for 55 Euro is unbelievable!!!
