Levi Johnson Makes A Big Move

Tue Aug 24, 2010 6:09 am

OMFG. That's all I have to say.

Doesn't say whether he's DNC or GOP but I hope it's GOP!

Quote:
(CNN) - Levi Johnston filed paperwork on Friday that confirms his intent to run for office in Wasilla, Alaska – presumably for the same office Sarah Palin held until 2002.

You can't make this stuff up.

Perhaps the subject head for this thread could be fixed to indicate the correct spelling of the individual in question. It is Levi Johnston (with a "t").

I never knew he had political aspirations. Good luck to him. If this is what he wants to do with his life, so be it. What exactly is the story/issue here?

I don't think there is any. Not that I am defending him at all, I just don't see the big deal. If he wants to run, that is his right. More power to him. There are people out there that are running for office somewhere that is a heck of a lot worse than him. So, whats the deal besides the GOP bashing?

Given his various actions to date, I don't believe that the kid is anything but an attention whore whose fame clock is permanently stuck at 14:59. Perhaps I'm wrong, but that's the impression I get from him.

But I think he's about to learn the importance of a college education.

If Sarah Palin ran for office and won then i think he has pretty good chances of winning, they both seem to be on the same level intellectually speaking. I'm just praying he is running for the Republicans as it would be embarasing if this bozo runs for the democrats. This guy fits the true definition of attention whore.

Well, they both got involved with pre-marital pregnancy. Levi is simply 5 universities short of Palin in terms of "education".

Sure, Doc, he could be...

But honestly, what do you rate the chances of that being true?

Also, I don't think his physique is as detailed as I like - bit too much beer and not enough hard work, if you ask me!

He is running for a position in Wasilla, not the president. What if, now hear me out: What if he is running because he realizes has a kid and wants things to be better for his kid? What if he is running to help shape the future of his home? What if he is running to be a part of the process beyond simply casting a vote? It could happen because it does happen. Since I don't know anything about the boy, I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

He has had his 15 minutes of fame, thanks to Sarah and the tabloids. What a sad commentary on our news organizations and us these days. I can just see Edward R. Morrow, Huntley and Brinkly covering this junk.

As am I. I was merely expressing the expectations I have of him turning out to be a hidden gem in the wild, woolly north.

I gave Sarah the same chance when she astonishingly appeared on McCain's ticket in 2008, and was amazed at the things I quickly learned about her and her career.

After voting republican my entire adult life, dear Sarah's presence on McCain's ticket was enough for me to jump the fence and vote democrat. Given the elephant party's performance since then, I doubt I will be switching back any time soon.

So, to say that I hold low expectations for Sir Levi is perhaps an understatement. I await pleasant surprise.

First of all, how old is he. Second of all, your comment is uncalled for. Any American can "Plow the fertile fields" anywhere. Third of all, there is no restriction - that I know if - that has a requirement on how old you can be to run for mayor nor the experience requirements.

Well clearly it's an opinion. I never stated otherwise. My opinion based upon what I've read of and seen of Levi Johnston to date is that he is a clown. If you disagree, that is fine, but I am certainly entitled to my opinion. After all, the kid hasn't done anything yet to prove to me that he's doing this for anything other than the attention he gets.

I don't know about Wasilla or Alaska, but in Oregon, I believe a person has to be 18 and a citizen of the community for a set time period; a few years, usually. IIRC, Shane Bemis became the youngest mayor ever when he was elected in Gresham several years ago. I believe he was only 19. That would mean no college education and he has been doing a good job, IMO. I lived in Gresham for 3 years so I can say he did a good job with no college education and little or no governmental experience.
