I downloaded and tried IE9 and have since uninstalled it.
There were things that I liked about it. It loaded a bit quicker than IE8 and in its default setting gave more space to displaying the page rather than various toolbars and buttons. It looked simpler and fresher. It was stable in operation and did not crash.
However, there were some issues displaying content or handling scripts.
1. I like to do the Guardian Cryptic Crossword online. There is an anagram function that opens a window and displays inserted letters in their position in a grid and unallocated letters to be shuffled. While the letters in the grid correctly displayed, the unallocated letters did not appear.
2. Far worse for visiting Airliners.net, the drop-down lists in the photo search engine only partially displayed. All that displayed for Aircraft, Airline and Country was the drop-down arrow, which when clicked upon opened an empty list. The other drop-down boxes worked properly.
Uninstalling IE9 and reverting to IE8 solved both problems.
