Plym is short for Plymouth where I lived at the time and still live on and off, the rest being pretty self explanatory.

I can't remember the last time I went spotting there though, and it's not something I actively do any more. It's a mile down the road from my, but I've seen it all so many times before there is little point.

Pretty simple. My father was in charge of systems acquisitions for Avro Canada when it was developing the Avro Arrow. I have original pictures of it, and a few little pieces here and there. He managed to salvage some stuff when the government cancelled the project in 1959. As a kid, I watched it fly a few times.

Quoting Quokka (Reply 23):
The name is that of a vulnerable marsupial, restricted to the the south west of Western Australia and commonly seen on Rottnest Island. Rottnest Islands gets its name from these animals as the Dutch mariners who discovered the island thought that they were large rats.

HSV for my old home airport, Huntsville, AL and XJ for Mesaba Airlines, my first real airline job.

I loved those days in the late 90's early 2000's working the Avros. Great little plane. I left the company in 2002 when it was announced that Pinnacle would be taking over the HSV station. It kind of breaks my heart to see where Mesaba is now.

Many many moons ago CO had DC10 service into BHX. The office I worked in had a view over the runway and we could see these flights taking off and using most (if not all) the runway to get off. It helps that I really love the DC10 (not that we get to see many of them here at BHX now). My alternative screen name(s) would be L1011 or CL44 as these three Aircraft are my all time favourites.

When I joined a.net I was flying out of Boundary Bay Airport, one of those weird airport codes in Canada that doesn't include a "Y".

(Google Earth: 49 04'45.49"N 123 00' 53.02"W- that's where you'll find the aircraft I have in my profile: CF-GMX)

Damn that cash-flow thing.... it's been a couple of years since I have flown.

One day though.....

"Fear God and Dread Nought" - Motto of HMS Dreadnought

I have always been a keen student of dreadnought battleships since I was a boy. I loved their purity of concept and the passion with which they were built in the period between 1906 to 1916 (the ones that came later started deviating from that purity, IMHO). Their mere existence change the course of world history and were a major cause of WWI.

Then you must have read those two brilliant works by Robert K. Massie -- "Dreadnought" and "Castles of Steel." Fascinating period in history; possession of a dreadnought was the equivalent of "who has the bomb" of the 1940s and through the cold war.

My username reflects Air NZ's flight from LHR to AKL. I picked it because at the time I was working on the 744 'A' Checks that used to arrive from LHR/LAX as NZ1 first thing in the morning. I loved the smell of the ovens that had served breakfast 2 - 3 hours earlier. Sad, but true. A closet plane spotter.

I decided on my username after seeing a BA 772ER at WLG during a Royal visit.

I still have a vivid memory of seeing that 772 fly over my house on approach to AKL! It seemed pretty low too!

Mine comes from the flight NZ107, which used to be the flight number for the last Air New Zealand AKL-SYD flight of the day. It's significant to me as it was the flight that rekindled my interest in aviation after having loved it as a small child but due to not flying much, my interest wasn't as strong. This flight took me to Sydney to watch the Olympic Games. Not only that but I have connections between both cities - Auckland and Sydney. For a time, I considered CX107 (AKL-HKG, another of my favourite flights - first flight in Business) as my username but I felt as though I wanted to be more associated with New Zealand than Hong Kong so I went with NZ107.

I thought it was such a shame when they changed the numbering of the flight to NZ707 because the A320s flew the route but now it has been changed even further to NZ709 for some strange reason.
It's all about the destination AND the journey.

People call me a bookworm since I'm always reading and studying. Einstein was often a name people would call me, whether teasing or complement, so that put my gears into action:

einstein: intelectual person
boricua: denonym from Puerto Rico's taino name Boriken, Borike, or more commonly known, Borinquen.(BOH-REEN-KEN)

Put it together? Intelectual person from Puerto Rico.

As someone biased towards Boeing, I do have to admit the A330 is a fabulous plane. I like EI's colors, but I've seen some great shots in the a.net DB of the last NWA rendering that were fabulous - take the silver paint, hit it just right with sunlight, and it's fabulous.

KASH

Another Southern NH local?

While I can't see KASH from where I live, I can hear it every time a bizjet fires up its engines!

So my nic came about when I first started reading a.net. There were many threads about the Wright Amendment, and DFWRevolution was a frequent poster (and still is on the 'board). So I said to myself that if DFW is a revolution, MHT (my home airport for commercial flights, which is fabulously convenient) is a revelation! Add that to my interests in technology, science, and spirituality, and Revelation just fit.

On the long taxi to departure ground cautioned the Cessna in front of me that there was a pair of pliers sitting near the centerline of the taxiway. He reported back "negative on the pliers" When I got the call, after seeing a set of channeI locks to the left of the centerline, I replied "Cessna 1234A has the pliers in sight". Noting like using traffic phraseology for hand tools.
