Annual MAN Meet 02/03-JUL-2011 - Part 2

Plan is to meet up at the Airport Pub (& Hotel) located on Ringway Rd for spotting and downing some local brew.
Either walk from T3 or take the bus to get there, if not arriving by individual transport (car, bike, tank, ...).

Any venue for Saturday evening is still to be decided.

Thanks, this reminded me to get a flight booked. Saturday flights have gone this year, so I'm coming up on the Friday before - it still beats 6 hours on the train. Will be stopping in the Airport Pub/Hotel I expect, but I've yet to confirm that. Probably departing from LPL to AMS on Sanday morning/afternoon as I need to take a FB segment to keep my miles current.

My Employer is expecting company-internal 8-day inspection, scheduled to end Thursday prior to the meeting at MAN. This somehow puts my booked flights (departing for GLA on Wednesday evening, and intensive flying to the Outer Hebrides on Thursday) at question. Will have to re-negotiate with my boss to let me go on vacation as planned.
So far I am keeping my flights & hotel reservations.

For those booking hotels for the Manchester meet, Hilton currently have a 40% off sale... the Hilton Deansgate is showing as £95 a night, while the airport Hilton is just £60 a night.... i'm not sure when the sale ends...

Might be a good time for me to check ferry timetables from Belfast to Liverpool. Being stuck a few miles over the sea would just be painful.

I've removed myself from the attending list to the maybe list as I realised the meet is the same weekend as the Goodwood Festival of Speed which I might be going to instead as I haven't been before but I've watched planes at MAN loads of times and can do so anytime.

Unfortunately i am not able to make it this year. Just got a new job, and asking for a day (or two) of so soon does not seem like a good idea. It's a shame. I really wanted to attend and meet you all again. I guess a LHR-meet will be my only chance to attend an a.net meet this year

Not decided yet whether I'll stay at the Bewley's or The Airport Hotel.

The Airport Hotel didn't have any rooms available, so I booked the Bewley's now.

Now the Hellenic fiasco has deflated itself for (at least) another week, I can confirm that I won't be heading to Gatwick Saturday evening. Stopping in the Airport Hotel for Friday night and with a friend on Saturday.
