I'm Going To Be A Daddy!
I just wanted to share this great news to my A.net family that the doctors have confirmed that my wife is pregnant. I am excited and so is she. Expected due date is 6th Feburary so I'll be home to see my first son or daughter born.

Congrats! We're due on January 30th, so I know what you're going through - get ready for lots of food and fatigue, but it'll be okay.

I wish you and your family all the best. Even the sweetest little baby might be stress (well, certainly it is), but its also the best life can give to you. Spend as much as time as possible with your kid expecially when its young and its possibly the most rewarding thing you might experience.
Haven´t had the luck to become father myself and my marriage failed because of that, but luckily I´m part of a big family with many children who thankfully all love me.

I still think everyday and find it hard to believe. My wife and I were planning on having a child in Japan, so it makes it easier for her family to see the baby and eventually I'll be back in the U.S in a few more years. Also, the Japanese Govt pays for each baby giving birth here unlike the U.S. My wife says we'll be getting 420,000 yens from our City Hall.
Congrats again to you. As for lots of food, I'll be stocking up before the due date. As for fatigue, I'm okay with that. I get woken up basically everyday for stupid reason while being on a ship.
Thanks Madame. My wife and I are talking about taking some parenting classes the Navy has to offer. We'll be taking some classes when I get back from my deployment later this year. Not much time, but I'll have about 2 months to cram some classes in.

I meant your wife - we're now nine weeks in, and mine's been eating everything in sight, and is pretty fatigued.
I'm told the "What to Expect When You're Expecting" book is the de-facto bible for new parents, so you may want to seek it out. My wife's reading it now, and I'll be taking it up once she's done.

My wife emails me saying she's too sick to be eating right now. She's 8 weeks in. All she is eating is fruits and veggies, but skipping the rice and other traditional Japanese food. And of course, she's been complaining of being tired as well. One more doctor appointment on July 4th and she'll be heading to her mother's for a few weeks.
