Hi,
just read in several newspapers that Rowan Atkinson crashed his mcLaren F1.
My question is: wouldn´t that be the 2nd time he crashed his McLaren???
The papers don´t say, but I find it rather curious!

Yup, it is the second known time. He doesn't seem to be the best driver in the world, first he hits an Austin Metro, and now he hits a tree... I'm sure since the Mclaren caught fire and apparently bore the brunt of the damage, it will be written off. It also had more the 37,000 miles on it, which I believe it also a record for a mclaren f1 under private ownership.

Again?! Seriously, he should be more careful when driving this monster. Especially on the rain. Here is photo of the damaged McLaren:

Considering the value of an F1, the car would have to be burnt to a cinder before it would be written off. I'm positive this car will end up at Mclarens F1 Service Centre and be rebuilt better than new.

Or it's the car. The F1 has a reputation of being dangerous and accident-prone.
On Top Gear Rowan Atkinson showed he knows how to drive, but a McLaren F1 in the wet on a road...
I wonder whether he is cured from the F1 now or whether he will buy his third

As Capt. Blackadder might say: "I think the phrase rhymes with clucking bell".
Glad to know he escaped without serious injury.

The then-BMW boss totaled an F1 as well back when it came out. And I still remember, the first one to be sold in Germany was wrecked within 1 week of arriving, doing 300km/h+ on the A5. Driver walked away.
