Grand Theft Auto V Trailer

Thu Nov 03, 2011 10:15 pm

Rockstar Games released the first trailer of their upcoming GTA V yesterday: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QkkoHAzjnUs

No release date yet, nor supported platforms, but PS3, X-Box 360 and PC are probably a safe bet, as is "no earlier than fall 2012".

It looks fantastic!!! I believe the release date is the 1st June 2012... if you go on the walmart site it says if you pre-order the game you will get it on the day of release which says June 1st on there. I hope this is true, can't wait for the game!!!!!

It would have been nice with a new setting, like London in the 70's/80's or Northern Ireland during the Troubles, but I'm not complaining. GTA SA was pretty much the peak of the GTA franchise so far, with GTA4 having a bit too many nuisances and lacking some of the stuff SA had (Turf Wars etc.).

Loved GTA but hope they make it for PC instead everything for XBOX or whatever. Loved San Andreas cause that was PC!

GTA4 and GTA4 Episodes from liberty City were both available for the PC... in fact I think all versions are available for the PC...

I hope Rockstar make the move to Mac, It'd be nice to have a game as epic as GTA on the Mac platform.

EA, Steam (If steam fits in the same catagory) and a few others have started releasing proper games for Mac. I played Portal 2 and Half Life 2 on my Mac and they've worked quite well.
Coolier than thou.

They were, but at least GTA4 suffered horribly from consoleitis. The performance crippled every time you drove through rain.

In other news, only one more week until Skyrim

No release date yet

Some people are saying Rockstar secretly put the release date in. When the postal van passes the foreclosure it says "We aim not to lose it", "for sale" and under on the road there is a house number written as "2405", some people are seeing this as the 24th of May, which also fits the normal Rockstar release dates (almost identical to GTAIV and RDR).

Others say this is coincidence, especially as in the US dates are mmdd, but then again, Rockstar North are based in Scotland.

I would be incredibly surprised if we don't get planes. Rockstar knows that is one thing many miss, and they wouldn't end the trailer with a plane if plane are unavailable for use.

Anyway, I'm excited!

Oh we will get aircraft for sure in the game 100%! GTA IV was good but missed nearly everything from SA, so I expect R* to blow our minds away with the best game of this decade!

Rockstar releases Max Payne 3 next spring. That almost rules out GTA V near this release date.

Not a chance. Nothing but a Mac Pro comes anywhere close near the necessary performance to run such a game.

It was for me. It's a shame so many people only see the violence. First, the stories are excellent, to the point it's basically a playable movie.

Second, Grand Theft Auto is cutting edge cultural satire. Just wander around to find all of the dated, cultural, scatalogical, etc. jokes and puns poking fun at virtually everything.

And the environments themselves are excellent creations (recreations?) of real life places, with the locations and associated cultures sometimes turned up to 11. They manage to create living cities inside a game, which cannot be easy to do.

Plus, San Andreas in particular is a thinly disguised history lesson about the Rampart Scandal, LA riots, gang/rap music culture, mafia casinos, and gang wars. A lot of the game wasn't taken all that far from reality.

You and I have had our disagreements about various things, but this post is absolutely SPOT ON. It really is a shame people only see the violence.

So true. I always enjoy listening to the talk radio shows.

GTA is the only video game that I have played and beaten since I was 13 years old or so. There are no stores in Flight Sim

I have like everyone, my favorite may be GTA-3 just because it was such a revolutionary game. Can't wait for it to come out, homeless people with signs, this is going to be awesome. Hoping for an early summer release so I wont have to fight over school work or GTA

I remember listening to one of the music radio stations in Vice City and one of the radio hosts talks about going to a party where some "old woman" was there.

"She was ooooooold. She must have been 30!"

Yep!

The poltical talk stations are a joy to listen too and the commercials. I remember how crazy I thought it was to have radio stations in a PS2 game when I first got GTA-3. I am looking forward to this one and hopefully there will be a lot of great things. I enjoy doing the missions and all but I also enjoy just going around the city. The most places you can "go inside of" and the more interactions the better.
