I got:

-some shirts from ThinkGeek
-Lilliput 7" Touch Screen USB monitor
-H&R .44 Magnum rifle with scope, case, cleaning kit and ammo.

The first part I expected, the rifle I did not. Needless to say, my wife has raised the gift giving bar!

I got me a panoramic helicopter flight. The flight was on the 21st.

Beautiful weather with a beautiful scenic ride. I had the best seat in the house sitting next to the pilot.
Got lots of pictures for the memories. They rarely do these scenic flights so I could not pass on it.

These flights are always too short. Helicopter time is $$$$ costly.

Otherwise nothing special. I don't do conventional holiday celebrations.

I hope you all got some nice things.

Because I was with only one family member during Christmas, I got one thing; a US Grand Union flag (Almost identical to that of the British East India Company). I've actually wanted this for some time; there was a quite large space hanging in my room that needed something to be up. I'm a sucker for interesting flags, so this added to the ones I own. (In case anyone cares, the other is a Soviet Air Force flag... I'm looking for a Navy one, too.)

I'll get more stuff, likely money, when I see the rest of the family in the coming days.

I got a David and Clark headset (start flight school next month), a nice flight bag, a slingbox so I can watch my shows from school, some video games, tons of gift cards, and cool hard cash. Made out very well. I am extremely fortunate. Though since my birthday is so close to Christmas it all comes at once!

This year I got:

- 5x JB Hi Fi (electrical/CD/DVD/computer store) gift cards with a total value of $155 AUD. I forgot to tell family what they should get me, so they got me those
- A bag of scratchies where I won two free tickets! Yippee!!!
- Lunch at a Christmas Function at a beachside hotel
- Box of chocolates

and hopefully tomorrow, dad is taking me to the sales and buying a new laptop for me. My eyes are already set on Apple's 13" Macbook Pro, which I can get 15% off at a electrical retailer. Wonder if I could get a better deal elsewhere?

I don't know what the story is with refurbished items in Australia, but if I could find a MacBook here in the US that's 15% off, it's likely cheaper than refurbished; sounds like a great deal to me.

I got a nice wool sweater and a cool winter designed fleece that I got from my wife. My wife's family sent us chocolates, chocolate and vanilla potato chips from Sapporo, a box of Twining s Tea with multiple flavors, and something for our daughter.

Other then that, I bought myself a Hi-Def Panasonic video camera for when I go flying and bring with me to Haneda and Narita airport and need it for my daughter's arrival next month. I also bought me a nice wallet I bought in Hong Kong last month, which only cost me like $5 USD. I bought my wife a lot of stuff from my trips to South Korea, Singapore, Thailand, and HKG. Great stuff and very cheap. Happy Holidays!

I got.......

Nothing.

I also spent Christmas alone at home, no decorations, tree or anything. I've become used to it now I guess. Everything I want for Christmas I usually have to buy myself.

So on the 24th I ordered myself a new camera from Amazon....
http://www.fujifilm.eu/uk/products/d...eras/bridge/model/finepix-hs20exr/

When it arrives I'll sell my Canon 350D and 3 Sigma lenses - 18-50mm, 55-200mm, 70-300mm.

Cheers.

Santa managed to squeeze his fat a** down my chimney and leave me a few goodies..... He mostly left me cash, but was also kind to leave me a pair of boots, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation DVD (my all time favorite Christmas movie), under shirts, a bottle of Van Cleef & Arpels Midnight in Paris cologne, toiletry bag, a couple scarves, subscription to Afar travel magazine, and a partridge and a pear tree...

I guess my bribe to him worked in removing me from the naughty list..

I got a cold. Spent much of the day with an ugly sore throat, which kind of put a damper on things.

But got some pretty cool stuff: an F-35 model, an Arrested Development DVD, and Earth From Above DVD, a couple of books (including one with tips for a longer and healthier life, which says to avoid working above the fourth floor of buildings and to only travel by air when absolutely necessary - I'm screwed), some candies, some tea.

I got some nice presents...a Kylie Minogue calendar from my favourite Brit, Dance Central 2 for the Kinect from our best friends, and from Mr. Harlot, a wallet and a beautiful necklace with an airplane charm. My mom also sent me a new Canadian $100 bill.

Mr. Harlot got a force feedback steering wheel for the Xbox and a ticket to an NHL game from me. (He's joining me when I go to a women's curling tournament in Minneapolis in February, as is one other husband of a teammate. The guys will go to the game one evening when we have our ladies-only banquet!)

First I got about 25 hours wrapping presents - especially for Santa to deliver. It is amazing how many small, fiddly things go into a stocking.

Then I got half a day sitting back, enjoying watching the grand kids having an exciting and fun day.

I did get a few shirts and a new sweater. Plus candy. Plus some after shave balm.

And a fantastic Christmas Dinner prepared by the Wife & Daughter.

What more could a Grandfather want for Christmas?

(And, yes, I did the dishes & pans after that fantastic dinner)

I got a .300 Weatherby Magnum Rifle with a scope -- I'm super excited to shoot it.
I also got a .40 Caliber pistol for me (I've been wanting this caliber for a while)
Two weeks ago I got a 30-06 rifle with a scope.

I bought the girlfriend a little .380 caliber pistol to keep in her car console.

I love buying and receiving guns for myself and my family.

Merry Christmas everyone.

Well, I'm a bit fuzzy on the details about this one, but I was told this present over the phone.
