Show Us Your Desktop.

Wed May 09, 2012 11:05 pm

It has been a while since we have seen what each other desktops look like. So lets have it. Show us a pic and let us know what Operating System you use..

I use Linux Mint 12, with Cinnamon 1.4. I like things very simple.

Oooh that is nice! But a little too dark for my liking!

I'm on Windows XP Professional (the PC is 7 years old, the monitor about a year)... as you can see - I can't wait until I replace it in the summer with a MacBook Pro! (I will change the background soon when I can be bothered as I'm bored of it now)

I run Lion on my MacBook. As with the poster above, I'm awaiting the new MacBook Pro -which should come out sometime this summer- to replace this with. It's connected to an old Studio Display. Background photo is something I took myself in Kalamath Falls, OR; it was the Amtrak logo next to the door on my Superliner.

My desktop:

I have yet to find a picture that I like as much as this one. Well, there is a SU Il-96 picture taking off, but that's on my campus computer. And of course, part of the college life is to start with a clean desktop and finish with a messy cluttered one.

Some interesting desktops there, I have a program installed called Kuvva http://kuvva.com/ which automatically changes my desktop background every day. It features various artists and some of the images are stunning, you should give it a try!

xfce desktop. Moved from Mint to Xubuntu. Mint was making life difficult with no auto upgrades. xfce is brilliant, blazing fast. After the Unity nonsense, can't stand gnome anymore.

CSeries forever. Bring back the old site.

That's a really nice aerial shot. Not sure if it's computer generated or real but it is cool!

Thanks!

Thank you. It's actually from a real picture I took in Queenstown, New Zealand a couple of years ago. I played around with it in Paintshop to give it that miniature city effect.

Me at Monument Valley, Arizona. One of my favourite photos ever (and not just because I'm in it!) - such beautiful scenery.
