What Is Fort Wayne's Most Interesting Building?

Let's look at my home city, Fort Wayne, IN. What's the most interesting, unique, or even ugliest building there?

This one is for those who live there, or have been there in the past. Any building, new or old, is fair game!

Some would say this one, One Summit Square, Fort Wayne's tallest, is the ugliest, with its brutalist concrete design.

In my opinion, I love it (and its design too), since it symbolises my home city to me. It is also the most interesting design.

It has a design that gives the illusion of twin towers--the taller, slender tower houses the lifts (I think there are 7 lifts in it) servicing all the 26 floors. I like the way they banded the lift tower in orange brick to break up the otherwise solidly brutalist look.

Here it is:

It was not originally designed this way, however. In the 1970s, Indiana & Michigan Power wanted to build a corporate headquarters downtown in Fort Wayne. Their original concept featured twin towers, one being the office tower (taller) and the other being hotel/residential in purpose. It was designed to glitter with glass and steel panels. See the concept photo below:

Due to funding and other issues, the design was cut down to the bare-bones reinforced concrete tower (and no twin tower) that you see today in Fort Wayne.

What is your choice for most interesting or unique or even the ugliest building in Fort Wayne?

Have fun!

The airport?

Are you interested in its architecture?

How about downtown Fort Wayne? Any buildings there that pique your interest, as being unique or ugly?

I know nothing about Fort Wayne (sorry). However I was motivated to read up on the place in Wikipedia as a result of this thread, only to discover that the city is host to an annual BBQ ribs festival... yes, an entire FESTIVAL! I am simultaneously amused and in awe.

You missed the joke. Fort Wayne is even more boring than Indy, and that's saying something.

I like that post card photo of the parking lot. I see a white 1976 Oldsmobile Ninety Eight Regency coupe, Ford LTD Country Squire a Lincoln Mark V and a few other gorgeous vehicles of that era.

I can't think of anything architecturally significant at the moment but I do know about the Percussion Center in Fort Wayne.
Many famous drummers including Neil Peart, Stewart Copeland, John Panazzo and many other famous drummers has their drums made there.
