They're still alive and well here in Indonesia.
Pizza Hut started their own specialist home delivery
PHD... But people still prefer to eat at Pizza Hut or call them up for delivery.
Domino's having a resurgence here...
Why Pizza Hut is still popular here? Cheese ain't cheap here... and home made pizzas turn up to be quite expensive ! Yeah pepperoni is not cheap here either... In the end, want a pizza? It's cheaper to call Pizza hut for delivery. Their localized menu is doing reasonably well... and the salad bar is still popular as ever (salads aren't cheap here if you want have it at home for yourself).
When I go to a city here where there is no good food, well, Pizza Hut is a refuge away from "threat of diorrhea"...

The quality variance of KFC and McD here is too great to risk, so Pizza Hut wins for me outside Java & Bali if I'm on a long stay/deployment somewhere.
Quoting rfields5421 (Reply 23): In Southeast Asia and Singapore, Pizza Hut spend a few million dollars developing a system to keep pizza warm on delivery motorcycles. That is how the business has changed over the decades. |
LOL! Yeah! Not bad, I had a pizza delivered LATE (but with prior notification by them due to the heavy traffic in Jakarta), and when it arrived here, it wasn't warm, it was still
HOT!
Quoting rfields5421 (Reply 23): The bigger issue in the US is that the 'Chicken on a Bone' as a meal is dying out. And it is in many European countries. Young people want their chicken processed and served in a 'nugget' format. |
Nuggets aren't as popular as chicken on a bone here, to the extent that McDonalds had to defend its market against KFC by offering "chicken on a bone"...
The chicken you buy from your local supermarket, treats their chicken the same as KFC.
(And Pizza Hut
TV advert is on while I'm writing this! Grrr!)
