Quoting FRAspotter (Reply 1): I just got a Google Nexus 7 about a month ago and absolutely love it. Beats the hell out of paying $600+ for an iPad. |
Quoting mham001 (Reply 2): The Motorola deal was only recently finalized. |

The Retina iPad starts at $499. The non-Retina iPad 2 – which is more comparable to the low-resolution Nexus 7 – starts at $399. |
Quoting KiwiRob (Reply 4): thb I didn't realise Motorola were still in the cell phone market, I've never seen one for sale in Europe in the 6 years I've been living here. They made some great phones like the startac and razr but then they dissappeared. |
Quoting Klaus (Reply 3): Even though they need to be very careful about not appearing to unduly favour Motorola, it would not be shocking to see a high-resolution Motorola Nexus pad being next... |
Quoting traveler_7 (Reply 5): IPad like any other product by Apple is really very nicely crafted. Do not forget that tablets are not just simple device to read e-mail, chat and brows the internet but the gate to the ecosystem. So it is not only price versus specs and quality but what is behind. |
Quoting traveler_7 (Reply 5): But it would be surprise if Motorola would not produce some Nexus phone or pad for them |
Quoting traveler_7 (Reply 5): Well perhaps they disappeared for a while but now they are present in Europe. |
Quoting traveler_7 (Reply 5): Even more recently they announced some new Razr Smartphones. |
Quoting Klaus (Reply 6): Yes, but Google needs to tread very carefully there in order to not scare away the other Android manufacturers. (Samsung is already hedging its bets, with devices running their own Bada or Microsoft's Windows Phone.) Jumping into direct competition with them is a problematic tactic anyway. Keeping Nexus manufacturing diversified may lessen the impact there. |

Quoting traveler_7 (Reply 8): Interesting if Motorola will produce some Nexus devices would they use very original Android from Google or will customize it. |
