But then again, I saw a guy driving a miada once with a newspaper in one hand , coffee in the other, papers in his lap, and his knees on the wheel. I made sure to get way the heck in front of him.

One day, I was driving to work and I was behind an older Pontiac Bonneville that was driving at an inconsistent speed and weaving around the lane. Being rush hour, it was difficult to get around the car, but when I did I saw an African-American man with dreadlocks smoking what was clearly a joint. As I watched, he pulled out a flask and took a swig off it. Then he pulled out what looked like a vial of white powder and put it to his nose.

That explained a thing or two... so I slowed down, got behind him again, called 911, and read them his license plate.

But the two words that strike fear into my heart are "Toyota Sienna." If it's in the Bay Area, I guarantee that there will be a very clueless driver behind the wheel. And they WON'T have being drunk/high as an excuse, either.

But even I wouldn't have guessed that the FL driver was a lady shaving her hoohah on her way to a date with another man while her ex-husband was holding the steering wheel.

I thought for sure it would be Massachusetts. They have to be the worst drivers in the world. I cringe when I'm on the Mass Pike. Though I have to agree with the Toyota Sienna. I have a tendency to break the law speed wise to get away from them. I want to see the picture of the guy she was seeing. He must be one desperate son of a gun.

At least there's a sort of Zen to driving in Massachusetts, and you can have some semblance of relative safety if you stick to the slow lane and keep your head on a swivel, and you can swim with the sharks in the fast lane if you chose to do so.

On the FL Pike they'll come over and cut you out even if you are in the slow lane minding your own business, they have no idea of what lanes are for, they'd drive the wrong way down the interstate if we'd let them, they are totally insane in my book...

The post intro story sounds like something Jay Leno would feature in his weird stories bits. It just proves how people have no common sense when they drive.
Among my choices of 'Worst Driving Offenders':
The 'clueless' driver, one not familiar with the area and makes sudden cut-offs to make the exit they need or turn.
The 'GPS idiot', drivers who slavishly follow GPS's, ignoring all common sense, let it distract the from real driving.
The ones on cell phones, especially ones emotional in their discussion and ignoring their first duty to drive.
SUV drivers going too fast for the physics of their vehicles, especially in snowy/wet/icy conditions.
The fast lane driver going the speed limit or less.
The bumper kissers, at high speeds climbing up your ***, tying to get 1 more car length.
The bored/tired driver, easily distracted and not paying full attention to driving.
Ones driving unsafe cars, with 'see through tires', parts rusting off, leaking exhaust systems, non-operating tail/stop/signal lights.
Those that don't use turn signals when changing lanes or making a turn.
I live in New Jersey, which has way too many bad drivers, but due to low average speeds, our death rates are among the lowest in the USA.

There are some not so bright passengers as well(and the drivers let them get away with it.)

This afternoon on my way home from work, sunny but cool Spring Saturday in Sydney, I walk along side a main road leading out of the city for a few hundred metres. In that short walk I saw not one but two care free young couples enjoying their weekend drives in compact SUVs, him good looking young stud driving, her attractive, even hot, young thing in passenger seat all very relaxed ... with feet up on the dashboard!!!

There is an old joke that asks...

Q/ What is the one thing a girl can put behind her ears to maker her irresistable to men?

A/ Her ankles!!

I wonder how attractive these fetching young things would be to their beaus if a slight bump in traffic set off the airbags, ripping their legs off at the hips and flinging them into the back seat!!!

Seems like people always blame their own state for being bad drivers.

Living concurrently between Phoenix and Cincinnati, I think PHX has to get the award for the worst drivers. The Nati, I used to think they were bad, but after living here in PHX for 2 years I was shocked.....People driving outrageously, driving like douchbags, hogging lanes, cutting people off, turning right from the center lane, holding traffic in the left lane to try to get to the other lanes.... horrible. At least during dust storms people don't drive

Cincinnati when it snows people SHUT DOWN big time. Other than that, the blue hairs just hog the lanes.

There could be a whole separate thread on this item alone. I've encountered many people who have the GPS = GOD mentality in terms of navigation.

What's even worse is the biggest offenders are people my generation (40s) and older. Part of me just wants to shake them and state, "You drove for decades without a GPS and survived; you, of all people, should know better."

Once saw a guy flying down the freeway with a laptop positioned on the steering wheel hub and a cell phone to his ear. These wonders never cease to amaze me.

My favorites are the idiots who stay in the far left lane and then at the last second zoom across all the lanes to try to catch the right hand exit. Couldn't they plan their lane management any better?

And let's not forget what I call the "whizzer cars". They don't stay in any one lane more than a few seconds at a time. They just bounce back and forth all over the highway.

And let's not forget that some of these people fly airplanes too.

Once I was coming into a small uncontrolled airport in a Piper Arrow on a 1/2 mile final and a idiot in a Beech Baron comes swooping in UNDER me forcing me to go around. By the time I landed his aircraft was empty and he was long gone from the field.

..."bro truck" drivers. You know the type. They drive a pickup truck, usually with a big lift kit and obnoxious wheels, often diesel powered (and with one of those awful programmers that give them a "smoke tune"). Sometimes they'll have bad graphics on the sides, but not as bad as the Ed Hardy, Tap Out or Affliction shirt they're wearing. On that note, they all look and act the same; MMA t-shirt, black or white ball cap on backwards, wearing Oakleys, fuelled by a diet of Zyience protein shakes and Jagerbombs. In the passenger seat of the truck will be either their borderline-trashy girlfriend or their pitbull.

Here the worst drivers are said to be from Kanton Aargau (the AG on the plate is said to standfor "Achtung Gefahr" (Warning, Danger).

As am Aargauer myself I tend to see Solothurn drivers as a flaming menace (too slow and in the left hand lanw) While Zürich drivers (ZH - Zu wenig Hirn) are very friendly - they try to get into the car with you.

Then again I live in a Kanton that sounds like something out of Talk Like A Pirate Day.

Some interesting ones in no particular order:

1. Old people backing up on an Interstate highway.
2..A fat gnome driving in the fast lane of I-95 at 70 mph. blowing chunks (major hurl attack)
3. A boobalicious MILF letting her little bambino suck some high test whilest driving.
4. A long legged barefoot hottie with CFM high arched feet painting her toes, her knees steering the car. I almost drove off the road massive stiffy included.
5. An aged obese hippo of a man going down on a young hottie while she drove. I wondered where that intense smell of fish was coming from.
6. A bunch of young party animals playing musical chairs while their car was in motion. Of course this included the driver.
