Best Web Browser

I have used Opera for a few years but now it wont let me access programs and Youtube videos that I was able to process previously with the browser. What web browsers do you recommend and use?

Google Chome. I've used FireFox since version 1, but the memory usage started killing me. Chrome proved so much faster.

I'd say Chrome as well. I can count the number of crashes I've had with it in several years on one hand.

Another one for chrome. Transferred from Firefox and wont be going back. Much faster and so stable compared to FF.

Used to be a devoted Firefox user, but having tried Chrome out (and having awesome integration of my Google account), chalk another one for Chrome.

The only issue I ever run into is video playback, but that may be my computer and not Chrome.

Chrome over here. I miss the traditional bar on top like in IE and Firefox, but everything else is pretty good

Again, Chrome.

I am a big fan of Opera and have used it for years, and do recognize all the innovative things they do that usually end up in the other browsers.

However, nothing beats the integration of Chrome with my google account and hence my android phone and all my computers, etc. Nor does anything work as fast.

I switched to Chrome a few years ago and never looked back. The autofill forms & password vault are great! The only time I use anything else is when I am forced to use Internet Explorer for internal reports at work.

Haven't gone back from Chrome since I got it. And I replaced the default Android browser with which Chrome for mobile on my phone too.

How is Chrome on Mac? I just switched last week and used Firefox on Windows, which combined with AdBlock and NoScript was .

I already stated I'm a big fan of Chrome. I got tired of IE being so slow, and it didn't matter which computer I was on. I tried Chrome on a whim and have not been sorry. Seriously, Google is close to (if they don't already have) their own OS for computers. I can easily see them unseating Microsoft as the world's best-selling OS. I mean I get a new computer, enter my gmail info, and all my bookmarks, history, and everything else are there.

It actually amazes me ho fifteen years ago, not many people used Google, and now, not only is it the premier search engine, you have the Andriod OS, Chrome, and a lot of other services.

Sad story is that when Google had their IPO, it was less than $100 a share. My roommate freshman year of college wanted me to go in with him and buy a few shares. As I was 17 when I started college, my parents had to give me permission to spend money. They told me "no way" when I asked about investing in Google. I just checked. It's over $830 a share. Yeah...I don't let my parents live that one down.

I was a long term user of firefox and enjoyed it a lot. But I use google mail and google search etc, so google chrome was the logic decision for me to use.

And I syncronized my cell phone, tablet, laptop and desktop PC with it, so all the bookmarks are available.

I never had any issues with chrome, works stable for me (but so did firefox), but I like the clean design of google chrome, no unneeded buttons, simply, but all I need.

They do already. It is called Chrome OS, and it is a budget OS for cheaper laptops predominantly. Although a tough proposition, I also believe Google have the power to take a huge chunk of the OS market, and believe that Chrome OS is their building platform. Wouldn't be surprised to hear that Google are working on a premium OS to take on Windows and OSX, and seeing how well most of their products usually turn out, I can't wait!

I'm a Chrome user on my laptop (Windows & Chromium on linux distros), Chrome on my iPad and iPod plus I use google calendars/Gmail anyway.

You know, I don't understand much about computers. I use Firefox if it works. I have 4 computers and 3 of them has Firefox. This one that I am using right now doesn't like Firefox. I don't know why, but it just don't work with this and this is not a very old computer. I have Chrome and Opera on this computer. Right now I am using Opera to write this post, because Chrome didn't want to start for some reason.

I like Firefox. I like its layout and it works fine on the other computers. I don't care about technical information, because I don't understand much about that. This is just my opinion.

Yea, Chrome for me too...
love the profile sync, makes it sooo easy to keep track of sites and passwords, and avoids the stratospheric memory use that plagues Firefox now... I don't know why Firefox hasn't gotten it's act together, they must see the erosion of their market share.

FF all the way, don't like chrome opera or IE.

FF have tons of good add-ons that I use. Like No-script, adblock+, multirow bookmark toolbar,
flagfox, fox clocks, Stylish, Fireshot, HostIP.geolcation, map this, TinyURL creator, X-marks., WOT.

Can I get an Amen for Chrome? Was a devoted Firefox user and I haven't opened that browser since. Not to mention that both my iPad and iPhone both have Chrome as well.

IE 10. I used FireFox from 2004-2009 and Chrome from 2009 until last month when I switched to IE10. I still use FireFox at work and strongly dislike it (as well as Ubuntu, which seems more appropriate for a tablet); Chrome remains on my notebook, which is running Windows XP (and limited to IE8).

Kind of like how Facebook does with storing your information.

If you have 32GB of RAM and an Intel i7-3990K then you've got a hell of a PC. It'll take whatever you throw at it (and then some) but Firefox would probably still slow it to a crawl

You can set it so it doesn't (there's an option for a "Do Not Track" request in the settings) but there are Chrome addons in the store that'll stop it too. Of course, the other option is use a VPN as well so they don't have your IP address but that's probably a little OTT. It's a great browser and if you use all the Google Services (Gmail, Calendars, YouTube, Drive etc) then it's even better. Plus you can sign in to the browser and it'll sync all your stuff between multiple computers and even portable installations of it.

Firefox does that as well. Either with Firefox xync or with Xmarks addon.

I haven't used Firefox for so long I didn't know but a clincher for me is that Chrome is available on iOS; Firefox unfortunately isn't.

Am quite happy with my laptop which is several years old now, core2 duo with 8gb running win7.

Am well known as an abuser of tabs, with dozens open at a time, and nary a complaint.

Session manager can save away all those tabs so you don't ever lose them.

Personally, I'd rather buy more memory than get rid of FF and it's add-ons.

It's never been a particularly speedy browser for me, I thought it was fast when i moved from IE but then I went to Chrome and realised how slow it was. Maybe it was just me but I was forever shutting it down and restarting it as it got to the point where my PC was unusable solely down to Firefox.

I'm a long time Firefox user. But Firefox started to crash more often and my computer doesn't really like the newer Firefox updates/versions even though I have used Firefox on this computer for years. Newer Firefox versions uses so much RAM which always crashes when I have around 8 tabs open.
Maxthon which I've used before is also a good browser which I've used for sometime. But like Firefox, my computer doesn't like the newer versions/updates and eventually the browser couldn't play youtube videos.
I currently use SeaMonkey, SeaMonkey which is somehow related to Firefox as it is also Mozilla based. It uses much less RAM than Firefox and it hardly ever crashes on this computer.

I agree. I have no problem at all with having many tabs opened at the same time
or even multiple windows with multiple tabs.

On a slightly related note, I switched from Firefox to Waterfox on my PC since Waterfox is a 64-bit based browser. I'll definitely say it was an improvement over Firefox in terms of speed and its memory bloating issue, BUT, it still was slow enough that I had to ditch it.

Am familiar with Adblock for FF, and am aware how to turn on DNT headers in FF.

Of course web sites are not required to honor the DNT header.

Are you perhaps referring to the 'DNT Me' product?

Chrome, the only thing i don't like about it is it's too easy to accidentally click on the cross for a tab that closes it. Especially when you have a lot of tabs open and each one is quite small.

Firefox isn't "that bad". It's just that Chrome is much better.
