Licking People's Eyeballs: New Craze In Japan

Thu Aug 08, 2013 5:57 am

Now this is weird:

I know every generation thinks they are much smarter than those that follow. But I'm pretty sure that when I was a teenager, I wouldn't have needed a government warning to discourage me from licking my girlfriend's eyeballs.

Strange. I would have thought any fluid-borne disease, can be transmitted through the eye if exposed, not only conjunctivitis. Dangerous practice.

Yeah, I read about this. Apparently there was a music video where the singer gets his eyes licked or something like that. Of course, weird music videos are nothing new, but young people in Japan can at times be very quick to adopt new trends. You'd think they'd give it up as soon as the first case of pink-eye shows up, though.

Of course, I've never had my eyeball licked. Might be the bee's knees!

Cheers
Mats
Sure, we're concerned for our lives. Just not as concerned as saving 9 bucks on a roundtrip to Ft. Myers.

but then they go and prove that it's patently not the case.

Sadly, teenagers, for whatever reason, seem more prone these days to jump on any bandwagon just to be different, like all the others.

I know where that is, and this photo is a hoax..... lol but it's still funny.

If this was real, those shoes would be right in the middle of the road in Akihabara, which would clearly be an illegal installation. No one I know who works over there ever remembers this thing being constructed anyway. Someone photoshopped this.

But I do remember the vending machines dispensing soiled panties when I lived there in the early 90's. This was at the apex of Japan's economic supremacy and I always thought those special machines were symbolic of a nation running on all cylinders..so much classier than Wall Street's cocaine binge in the 80's!

We've been p3wnd! (sort of)  Wow!

I'll probably end up on some list somewhere for having googled "eyeball licking", but I decided to take one for the team.

Japanese School Eyeball Licking Outbreak At School Reportedly A Hoax

Quote:
A reported outbreak of pinkeye among Japanese students who allegedly licked each other's eyeballs is a hoax, according to a reporter based in Japan.

Back in June, The Huffington Post, the Daily Caller and the Guardian , among other sites, reported that a group of junior high students caught conjunctivitis -- commonly known as "pinkeye" -- after engaging in "oculolinctus" or "worming," a fetish where one person puts his or her tongue to another's eyeballs.

However, Mark Schrieber, who writes for The Japan Times, said that after the story broke internationally, he contacted three Japanese professional organizations, including two ophthalmological associations, a university professor, and an organization of school clinicians to find out about the Japanese eyeball licking outbreak.

"None of them had the faintest idea of what I was talking about," Schrieber wrote in No. 1 Shimbun, a trade publication for foreign correspondents in Japan. "None knew anything about the rampant spread of disease."

So yes, Japanese are licking eyeballs, earthquakes happen (or not), but there's no pink eye epidemic. ::whew::

Too late. It has already been copied by teens, tweens, and other not so bright people all over the world. And, many of them post videos of them doing it on YouTube.

I just had this vision of Grandpa-san telling his grandson, "when I was your age we wanted our other balls licked".

I'm not entirely sure that's the case. A friend of mine's dad is a doctor specializing in teens, and my friend told me that his dad seen a rather large spike in eye infection cases recently.

I can't imagine anyone enjoying having their eyeballs licked.

If this really is a craze we'll have to see Madonna and David Beckham get their eyeballs licked so as to maintain their market presence in Japan.
and with that..cabin crew, seats for landing please.

LOL!

Indeed. If someone were to try to lick my eyeball, they'd get a punch in the throat.

Freaky shit, I tell you.
