NRT-HND Transfer

Wed Apr 09, 2014 5:45 am

Anyone have any tips on the best way? I've googled and read a bit figured I'd be a fool to not poll the a.net crowd.

I'm liking the bus option for 3100Y although it's perhaps slightly more pricey, but if I need to transfer to HND after not getting out of NRT, I'd pretty much be in the mood to pay a few extra yen to just have the bus take me directly to the curb at HND.

Just wondered if it's as reliable as I'd expect it to be. If I can't get a seat out of NRT, I won't be pressed for time to make it to HND as I'd be leaving NRT around 19:00 and the flight out of HND doesn't leave until 00:30.

Thanks if anyone has a favorite way to do this.

Bus can be a little unreliable in the evening hours if there is bad traffic anywhere along the way - which is always possible given the highway route is only two-lane.

I would suggest taking the Narita Express train to Shinagawa (2800 yen) and then the Keikyu Airport express from there (410 yen). The total journey is around 1 hr 40 minutes including a 10 minute transfer at Shinagawa. Shinagawa is the least confusing station to transfer at in Tokyo for travelers unfamiliar with the network.

You can also get the Access Express train. If I remember correctly in is about 1700 yen and takes 90 minutes. I took this between Narita Terminal 2 and Haneda in February and it was fine. It was cheaper than the bus and no need to change.

Hmm, maybe the train is the way to go after all, if the Access Express one is cheaper than the bus.

I appreciate the tips!
