Boat Incident Clip On Youtube

Fri Sep 12, 2014 4:32 pm

I just came across this clip while browsing Youtube. Very scary stuff, which could have ended up being much worse.

Start from 2:00 if you don’t want to watch from the beginning. They were lucky it was just injuries.

They were going way too fast obviously, and caught a wake from another vessel or hit a swell by the looks of it.

That has to be one of the weirdest videos I have ever seen. So many questions.

Why is the girl in the pink screwing around with her finger(looking very unhappy) after the guy in the back in the white shirt does something to it? 1:20 Did he break her finger or something like that? She doesn't look happy.

The boat looked like it was traveling pretty fast and it hit a patch of rough water. Didn't the driver see that coming? Why was the driver opening and closing the throttles so quickly right before the incident? Couldn't the driver tell he was about to be pitched right out of his seat before it happened?

They all ended up looking like a bunch of mannequins being tossed around. Was that all that happened?

Here is a story to go with the video:

More power than brains. Very lucky people. I have a brother-in-law who is just as dangerous. I took my family out with him once, never again.

Looks like an unintentional power turn.

From what I can see, he hit a wake, swell or whatnot, and cut the power. When the boat came down on a bit of an angle, the power cut causes the bow to dive, and spin the stern. Due to everyone being unprepared and standing, the shift in momentum sent them flying.

When in doubt, power out!

How a power turn looks when done intentionally.
