The Amazing Race #25

Sat Oct 04, 2014 12:38 pm

Hi all!

Just noticed the intro and they have A380 on the intro. Previously it had B744.
So who is watching it in the US?

Wow, I didn't know that show was still around! Then again, I thought Survivor was dead as well.

I like that they have not as many "D" list celebrities. They have a pair of WWE wrestlers and the surfer who had her arm bit off by a tiger shark but, other than that, they are all fairly normal. Wealthy but normal. I can not stand the dentist with the horrid spray tan. It does not suit him and does not look right.

About the intro: I usually don't pay attention to it, but I will next time!
You bet I'm pumped!!! I just had a green tea!!!

There is one guy, the wrestler, that I have dubbed Hammerhead. His eyes are not normal.

Amazing Race Australia versus New Zealand had the A380 intro...
It was won by Australia... Of course, lol.
Can't wait for this next installment to commence on Australian TV, if it hasn't already!
Cheers,

I'm actually sort of disappointed in this season's contestants. The dentist couple with their fake tans and teeth, the wrestlers, the blond realtors (first to go - thank goodness), seems like they went overboard on the 'annoying' duos this season lol.

I like the mom and daughter flight attendants, but can't believe she pissed over the side of the boat in this week's episode. I think my favorite team is the candy scientists and fire fighters, although the 'Boston Strong' stuff gets a little old after a while (no offense, just seems overkill).

With that said, still hands down one of my favorite shows though, always has been.
Oh yeah, and didn't notice the A380, but will watch for it this coming Sunday.

Watching this week's episode on my DVR, and I paused the opening credits right on the aircraft. It is an A380, but the color scheme is a bare metal finish to show no bias towards any airline (despite their marketing agreement with AA, which has no A380s).

As for the contestants, this is shaping up to be a very forgettable season. I will still watch though, as Amazing Race is the only "reality" show I watch (it doesn't pretend to be anything it's not).

It has been nice race so far.. The Internet is my friend. For are #25th season it's going to be a bit dull if you are looking the teams. But the sneak peak showed some issues with the team FA!

Great race so far, However it shows that even a top ranked team can find even a simple challenge very difficult if they don't read the clue properly.

A few years ago there was a road block that seemed pretty easy.

However the top ranked team (can't remember their names) found it very difficult and ended up eliminated despite having an Express Pass.

Like what happened to the dentists in the last episode. Almost got themselves eliminated and used "The Save", but due to it being a non-elimination leg, they got it back.

I didn't hear Phil mention if the non-elimated team will still have to do a Speed Bump or not. But in theory, could they have still chosen to use the Save in order to not do the speed bump on the next leg? I know that may not be optimum strategy, but just curious if that was on the table.
