Quoting frostyj (Thread starter): It will not be long until we have 6pm and brightness. |
Quoting jetmatt777 (Reply 2): This phenomena has been known for thousands of years. |
Quoting aircatalonia (Reply 4): So this is happening in the US too? |
Quoting frostyj (Thread starter): Days are increasing rapidly! Its noticeable. |
Quoting zrs70 (Reply 22): I was in northern Sweden a few years ago in late December. That hint of light mid day was inspiring. The midnite sun in northern Alaska in July is awesome. |

Quoting vikkyvik (Reply 3): You know hours, minutes and seconds are metric units, right? |
Quoting Okie (Reply 6): The days seem to be shortening in Australia. |
Quoting frostyj (Reply 18): Maybe I should just jump off a cliff i'm sure you'd all get more satisfaction out of that. |

Quoting irishair98 (Reply 12): What exactly is the point in this thread other than to look for an argument? |
Quoting BMI727 (Reply 25): I'm not usually an optimist, but I will be this time: I'm glad Airwhiners is alive and thriving. |
Quoting WarRI1 (Reply 27): We are not all miserable pricks on here. |
Quoting 1337Delta764 (Reply 30): The second is the official SI unit of time, however, minutes, hours, and days are also approved for use with SI units, even though they are not SI units themselves. So units such as the km/h or kWh are metric units but not SI units, since the hour is not an official SI unit. |
Quoting vikkyvik (Reply 37): Uh, thanks. But which time interval is each Powerpuff Girl's favorite? |
Quoting Kiwirob (Reply 23): I'm somewhat stunned that moderators have removed posts |

Quoting ANITIX87 (Reply 24): I've been totally desensitized by other forum's I'm on that are totally unmoderated. We desperately need a happy medium here, it's quite silly that we can barely say anything except, "You're totally right, great job!" without having our posts deleted. |

Well, if you really want to, I know a nice cliff in Co. Antrim, near the Giant's Causeway. It should be not too faraway from your place. Alternatively you could drive over to Connemara, there are several ovely cliffs as well... Oh, and don't forget to post a video! |
Quoting WildcatYXU (Reply 26): This is the 49-th time (OK, actually only the 48-th, as I wasn't born yet on this day of 1966) when I can follow the days getting longer this time of the year and I'm happy seeing it every year. I know very well it's coming, but I'm still happy to see it and I'm happier by the day as it's progressing (OK, perhaps happier is an overstatement, Mrs. Wildcat would rather say I'm getting less grumpy). |
Quoting nitepilot79 (Reply 30): frostyj, If you like plenty of sun, check Madrid out during summer. It's light early to late, and I mean late, and it is an awesome city. I've always wondered why M-town stays so bright so late, while many places along a similar line of latitude, get dark by 21:00 during the summer. |

Geographically, Spain (as well as France) should be observing GMT, but since WW2 have observed Central European Time. In the summer it is like observing double DST. At the same time, Portugal observes GMT but should be observing GMT-1. |

Quoting frostyj (Reply 37): Progress has been made and it is now 6:09pm and still daylight. Thank goodness we are moving away from those awful dark nights!! |

Quoting AR385 (Reply 42): I hate the Summer. |
Quoting WildcatYXU (Reply 44): It's easy to hate summer...when you don't have a winter. |

Quoting AR385 (Reply 45): Just as easy to love Summer when it´s really a balmy 2 month Fall... |
Quoting frostyj (Reply 41): Yep i'm aware of that. I'm at 55N and its bright until 11pm here in the summer and then it is bright again at 3am which I do despise. |
Quoting prebennorholm (Reply 46): one of very few Hitler decrees which still stand today. |
