My 2nd round picks:
Ducks over Flames
Rangers take out the Caps
Has get by the Lighting as long as Price remains awesome
My upset pick - Wild stun the Hawks.

After that crazy finish last night, who knows about Rangers/Caps?
Ducs over Flames is as close to a lock as any series this year
Tampa/Montreal will be a close one
I could see your upset pick happening. I think Chicago wins but wouldn't shock me if Minn pulls the upset

Hmmm, if there is going to be an upset, it's probably the Wild, other than that, yeah I agree, though the Caps are not going to roll over and play dead, for once.

Oh one little thing, for those that watched the games yesterday, did anyone else notice how empty the Pond/Honda center was, that's a crying shame.

Who would have thought that Carey Price would give up six goals in one game. Both the Habs and Wild have a mountain to climb if they want to advance. Hopefully no one went to Vegas and put money down on my picks.

Carey Price is not a superhuman. Sometimes he snaps. And considering the defense was awful yesterday (especially Markov), he was kinda left all alone.

But more than Carey Price's performance yesterday, it's the overall shape of the team that is a concern to me. Their lack of offense is worrying. Their PP is a complete shame. And their PK failed miserably yesterday.

They are certainly not playing like Cup contenders.

Correct on both points. Meanwhile, the Rangers lose tonight on a crazy goal. Game 4 is going to be huge for NY to win.

Well what do you know, the Flames actually won a game, so my nightmare of the Ducks sweeping every series can't come true !

And who knows, if the Flames can win the next game, it will get interesting.

So, my Habs will be facing elimination tonight. Not that I didn't see that coming. Meeting Tampa probably sealed our fate in these playoffs, but still, it always hurts. Especially because we didn't really deserve to lose game one and three. And conceding a GWG 1.1 seconds before the end of the match is cruel, seriously cruel...

The Habs' offense is appalling (at least for a team qualified in the playoffs). They scored 9 goals in the last 7 games. How can a team pretend anything by scoring so few? Carey Price must be feeling alone. Honestly, if I'm Michel Therrien, at the end of the series, I'd oblige the team to handshake Carey Price with the words "I'm sorry I wasn't up to your standard".

My thoughts exactly!! their performance in game 2 was deplorable.

Well, Habs get to live another night. A convincing 6-2 and the right to play one last time at home. I couldn't watch the game because of family obligations, so I don't know what really happened. But at least we won't get swept.

Chicago is the first to advance to the Conference Finals.

Washington can do the same tonight in NY.

Exciting finish to the NYR-WAS game tonight. The Caps coming back from 4-1 in the final period; having a 6-4 advantage for nearly the last two minutes, bring on Game 7.

Canada's Cup hopes are gone with 4-1 Tampa win over Montreal.

For me it was over when the Ducks put the Flames out...

That was kind of expected. Montreal is an ordinary team with an extraordinary goaltender. It works during regular season, but it doesn't during playoffs. The lack of offense was appalling. Their PP was even more appalling. Dan Lacroix should be fired.

Therrien said yesterday that he was disappointed in this team because they ran out of gas emotionnally. Like an idiot, I thought that was his to make sure they were not....

I'm sure NBC doesn't want this match-up. They are probably hoping for a Blackhawks-Rangers final.

I'd say Doc Emmerich might be biased against the Caps tonight, but I think he's better than that, plus, Washington is semi-marketable team for NBC. Lord knows they've tried like hell to make the most of Ovechkin. Of course, if you ask the author of this article, there's no way in hell the Caps win tonight:

http://grantland.com/the-triangle/th...d-tradition-of-capitals-collapses/

I'd prefer to see Chicago take down Anaheim, as there doesn't seem to be one thing about Anaheim that is remotely exciting. I get that they play hockey really well, and they are probably heavy favorites in this series, but if they make the Finals, I will probably check out and not watch.

Tampa looked like a legitimate Cup contender last night. Bishop probably had his best game of the playoffs (so far), and that trap defense just shut down any offense Montreal thought they had in them.

So long, Subban! Enjoy the golf. I think the Ducks have the best chance to beat the Blackhawks out of the remaining teams. Here is to hoping the Rangers can pull out the Game 7 win tonight. I want a Ducks-Rangers final.
So we beat on against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.

Ducks-Hawks
Rangers-Lightning
These are going to be two very exciting series. Each team has talent, depth and quality goaltending. I cannot wait for the conference finals to start!

What a game 2 between Anaheim and Chicago! A game that Crawford won but Anderson did not lose. Crawford had the heart of a lion tonight. And Shaw with the (non) goal that won't be forgotten anytime soon - Pele would be proud of it. YouTubers are quick with the video:

100% agree, as much as I dislike the Ducks, it was a fantastic game, one of the best i've ever seen. Both goaltenders played an amazing game, the only way it was going to end was on a crazy bounce.

So once again, the team that comes out of the the West will win the cup, go Hawks !

Whew what a game tonight, between the Ducks-Blackhawks. The 3rd period was fantastic, Ducks scoring three goals in only 37 seconds, and the overtimes kept me on the edge of my seat.

This series has been a whole lot of fun.

Certainly the best series so far this year, the Ducks are playing the Hawks the same way the Kings did over the last 2 years, punishing amount of hits to wear/slow them down.
