They first said late 2014 then early 2015. It is still under renovation. Takes forever for them to reopen. Geeeeeeeeeeeeeeez.
When will they ever reopen?
If the hotel is in Hong Kong or Singapore it will take less than a year for the whole renovation

If you're in such a rush to blow €900 on a room, go to the Mandarin Hotel next door! If that's too modern for you, Le Bristol is just up St Honoré. Personally, I prefer a room that has been updated since the end of the 20th century.

I prefer something being very classic.
Plaza Athenee is very good too.

Fropm what I've read it's not just a renovation they have gutted the entire building, removed the floors, all that's was left original is the facade.

George V hotel had same renovation process many years ago, it was totally renovated and took a lot of time because of the red-tape .. those buildings are listed so when renovating them you need to be super careful.

I heard they had problems to respect some of the renovation specs.
Reservations will open in June. The hotel will reopen probably end of the year.

They're renovating a listed building dating from 1705. I guess it's a bit more complicated than renovating rooms in a modern skyscraper.

It doesn't look as if they'll turn it into an ultra-modern futurist building on the inside if that's what you're asking. My guess is that there will be a lot of stylistic references to the neoclassical (I think?) history of the hotel.
