Fortunately in this case the only dead or serious injured is the shooter (he's dead) because police happened to be working an accident just on the street outside the parking lot.

The obvious solution is to loan movie-goers a gun with the purchase of every popcorn at theaters. It's the only way to neutralize such threats. Obviously.

I wonder what the difference is between the US and most other industrialized countries when it comes to gun violence. Their gun violence rates are so much lower... what is the answer!?

(yes I'm being sarcastic before I get flamed)

Sensible gun control for a start.

Works really well for us here on OZ, has done for years.

news says its just a air gun and an axe.
So no shooting just pepper spray and a chop to someone's shoulder.

One the positive side, it looks like this is now a trend!

Way to show your true colors, crying wolf. This was not a mass shooting, couldn't have been a mass shooting even. But hey, who cares, ignore the facts, we've got a story here to push our agenda.

This is the exact reason this stuff keeps happening. Stop glorifying it on the news. CNN/Fox/MSNBC, the 24 hour newscycle is half the reason this shit keeps happening, because you can become famous by being dumb.

Yes, because he is white with a Western name. And don't start with the "yeah, but..." rhetoric. We all know that when a dark skinned person with a non-Western name (like Juan or Chan or Tyrone) takes out a movie theater or mall or military office in the United States, it will AUTOMATICALLY be labeled as terrorism by the same cast of right wing characters. No if, ands, or buts.

So your solution to mass shootings in the US, is to impose a blanket news ban when these things ocurr? Nice one. Or to put it another way, mass shootings are ocurring because media actually informs about them ergo it´s the media´s fault. Interesting way of thinking. Dangerous, but interesting.

It's a tricky conundrum with no obvious answer.

Because the NRA and pro-gun lobby would never do that, would they. Oh wait...

Yep, head in the sand time. La la la la la, I'm not listening.

This thread will go where every gun-related thread before it has gone....off-topic land. It is already going that way, so I am locking it as the two sides have already came out with their viewpoints, which will not change regardless.
