Cant be, its done in a certain month and days, it shoud not have expanded to what it has become, just allowing a million or even fewer would have worked fine.

Basically its become a money earner for the Saudi's and to show off to non-muslims about Islam.

Stampedes like these are rare - the last stampede occurred 9 years ago, although this year's probably the deadliest since the 1990 stampede (a former classmate of mine lost his parents in that one).

Actually it's amazing that there aren't many more incidents like this given the sheer amount of people converging into Makkah every year to perform the Hajj.

There should have been no sheer amount, it should have capped at a million or even less, 500,000 would be just right.

Not rare enough unfortunately.

Apparently nine years ago some 1,440 people lost lives, and since then another 1,000 have perished. Add that to todays dead, and you have approx. 3,000 killed all from a religious ceremony.

Crazy and sad at the same time.

personally, I couldn't think of anything worse than attending such a ting with all those people milling around.

I think rather than limit the amount of people, it would be better to bar those who have undergone the Hajj from going again. You only need to do it once so why take space of others who have yet to undertake the pilgrimage?

Plus limiting the amount of allowed people as per your suggestion would jack up the price tremendously as demand outstrips supply.

Why not limit, its not they are being denied anything, atleast they can perfom it relatuvely better way, todays its 3 million tomorrow it will be 5 million, is that ok with you? I know some a very proud of all this and the glmourization of Mecca, they see it as Islamic pride and think no-muslims are impressed, talk about being deluded.

There should be a fatwa against pilgrimage en masse... or make another kind of pilgrimage to honor the Islamic belief. Anyway, if God is great and mighty, he will never be angry at you little, insignificant human creature. Being angry is human, and to think God could ever be angry would make him lose his God-like nature.

This is horrible.

Human stampede is an interesting topic for physicists and engineers. The specialty is even called "person hydraulics", because people flow like fluids, and when held up, they can exert tremendous pressure. Speak about having your bones crushed and the air sucked out of your lungs when 100+ people are pushing with no way to go forward.

That's why people must be reminded that the way you came into a building/plane/vehicle is not the only way to get out. The reflex is to push for the entry you've used.

The death toll is now 769 with 934 injured.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia's grand mufti says "Nothing could be done, it's not our fault. Fate and destiny are inevitable."  Wow!

No they obviusly picked it up from various sources and compiled it together, but like I said Arabs will defend each other, more so if it involves outsiders be they muslims, also acused Africans of starting this Nigeria has taken offence, and then later shiftef blame onto Iran.

What sources? Then it's the Daily mail, enough said.

What got me is that the Iranians few minutes after the stamped already accused KSA, as if they were expecting it.

Let's wait the decision of the committee. Like a plane accident.

Various sources are reporting what daily mail has so daily mail has basically taken stuff from one site completely or from various, everyone is accusing Saudi's of mismanagement, I bet they will hide their incompetence.

I have pity on you, as you didn't mention in your last posting anything about those hundred of people who lost there life in the incidents, the only thing you wanted is to attack KSA.

Get your priorities right.

From the people of Saudi, as i am one of them, keep your sympathy to yourself and the people of Pakistan.

Atleast there is no fake shaikh ruling over us and shutting us up, censoring our social media, stopping us from protesting, preventing women from driving or dressing as they like, mingling of sexes or preventing minorities from setting up places of worship, even the most fanatical part of the country a lawless area bordering Afghanistan has minorities and their worship places.

The biggest Christian cross in Asia has been built in Karachi http://www.dawn.com/news/1183333 near a major thoroughfare the main road of the city, not hidden in some obscure location, it was funded by a Christian businessman, the local city govt. approved, it didnt need provincial, national govt. permission nor religious authorities approval.
